The American Horror Story Season 13 teaser is here, and the new chapter is bringing back some of the franchise’s most recognizable characters.
Ryan Murphy has described the upcoming season as an Avengers-level crossover, and the returning cast certainly makes that comparison fitting.
Fans will see several familiar faces return as the series revisits characters from previous seasons.
Jessica Lange is returning as Constance Langdon for the first time since 2018.
Lange’s return marks one of the biggest moments of the new season. Constance first appeared in the original American Horror Story season, Murder House, where she became one of the show’s most memorable characters.
Angela Bassett is also returning as Marie Laveau.
Bassett played the powerful voodoo queen in Coven, one of the show’s most popular seasons. Her return adds another major connection to the series’ past.
Evan Peters is also back for the new season.
The actor appears to be taking on two characters, with the teaser showing him interacting with himself in the same scene.
Peters has appeared in multiple seasons of American Horror Story since the series premiered. His return gives the upcoming season another familiar face for longtime viewers.
Sarah Paulson will also return as Cordelia Foxx, while Emma Roberts is back as Madison Montgomery.
Gabourey Sidibe will reprise her role as Queenie.
The returning characters have fueled excitement among fans who have followed the anthology series throughout its run.
The new season features an extensive ensemble cast.
Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Madelaine Petsch, Frances Conroy, Tig Notaro and John Waters are among the other stars appearing in the season.
The new chapter will consist of 13 half-hour episodes.
That format gives the series plenty of room to bring together characters and storylines from its long-running history.
American Horror Story Season 13 premieres September 24 on FX and Hulu.
The season will begin with three episodes, giving fans an early look at the highly anticipated crossover.
With Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe all returning, the new season could become one of the franchise’s biggest reunions yet.
