The new VMA nomination adds to an already decorated career for French Montana. The Bronx-born, Moroccan-American rapper has earned three Grammy nominations and achieved Diamond certification during his career.
‘Ever Since U Left Me’ gets New York remixes
The song received another boost this summer through two high-profile remixes.
On June 8, French Montana and Max B released the “Ever Since U Left Me (Big Bronx Remix – Knicks Edition)” featuring New York rap legend Remy Ma. The remix celebrated the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals run and championship while connecting the team’s success with the city’s hip-hop culture.
The Knicks edition also became part of an ESPN collaboration. The track was featured across NBA programming, including NBA Today and SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt.
Then, on July 10, Lil’ Kim joined the record with the “Ever Since U Left Me (Lil’ Kim Freestyle).” The Brooklyn rap icon added another New York connection to the growing hit.

French Montana’s hit reaches millions
The remixes have helped expand the song’s reach throughout the summer.
According to the announcement, “Ever Since U Left Me” has now generated more than 50 million global streams, alongside more than 23 million YouTube views. The song has also recorded more than 272 million TikTok views and over 570,000 Shazams.
The VMA nomination gives the track another major spotlight as the 2026 awards approach.
