Trippie Redd’s mansion raid ended with an attempted murder arrest. Police arrested a 25-year-old man at the rapper’s Southwest Ranches, Florida, home Tuesday night.
Authorities identified the man as Braveone Jones, also known as BalloutDaDon. Police wanted him in connection with a September shooting in Miami.
Jones now faces two counts of attempted second-degree murder. The charges stem from a shooting outside Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood.
Police raid Trippie Redd’s Florida mansion
Several law enforcement agencies took part in the operation at Trippie Redd’s home on October 6.
Davie Police served the search warrant around 6 p.m. Miami police are leading the investigation.
Fort Lauderdale Police, Sunrise Police, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Plantation Police SWAT team also assisted with the operation.
Officers found Jones at the property during the search. They then took him into custody.
The large police presence drew attention to the rapper’s home. However, authorities have not accused Trippie Redd of involvement in the shooting.
Who was arrested at Trippie Redd’s home?
Police identified the suspect as Braveone Jones, 25.
Jones is also known online as BalloutDaDon. He faces two attempted murder charges connected to the September 15 shooting.
According to booking information, the case involves firearm-related attempted second-degree murder charges. His bond was listed at $15,000 for each count, according to TMZ.
Police have not publicly explained Jones’ connection to Trippie Redd or why he was at the rapper’s home when officers arrived.
That detail remains part of the ongoing investigation.
What happened in the Miami shooting?
The charges against Jones stem from a shooting outside Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood.
The shooting happened shortly after midnight on September 15.
Police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were 18 and 23 years old.
Both men were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. NBC 6 reported that the victims were in serious but stable condition.
Police initially had limited information about the shooter and the motive.
The investigation later led authorities to Jones.
Trippie Redd is not a suspect
Despite the raid happening at Trippie Redd’s home, authorities have not identified the rapper as a suspect.
Miami police are leading the investigation. Officers have also not said what relationship Jones has with Trippie Redd.
The rapper’s home became part of the investigation because authorities were looking for Jones.
As a result, the search warrant does not mean Trippie Redd has been charged in connection with the shooting.
The investigation remains active
The case is still developing.
Police have not released a motive for the September shooting. They also have not provided additional details about why Jones was at Trippie Redd’s property.
Meanwhile, Jones remains in custody while facing the two attempted murder charges.
The arrest gives investigators a major development in the case. However, authorities will continue gathering evidence as the investigation moves forward.
For Trippie Redd, the raid has placed renewed attention on his Florida home. At this point, though, police have not accused the rapper of wrongdoing in the shooting investigation.
