Blue Ivy Carter gave Jay-Z’s Los Angeles concert a family moment that fans will remember. The 14-year-old joined her father onstage Friday, Oct. 23, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, playing piano during two songs from his catalog.
The appearance came during Jay-Z’s JAŸ-Z30 Tour, which celebrates three decades of his music. Blue played alongside her father during Dead Presidents, an early track from his career, and The Story of O.J., from his 2017 album 4:44.
Footage shared by concertgoers captured the surprise appearance. After playing, Blue received applause from the crowd, embraced Jay-Z and acknowledged the audience before leaving the stage.

Blue’s performance added a new dimension to her growing presence onstage with her parents. She wore a blue-and-red jacket that appeared to be vintage Rocawear, paired with silver chrome nails.
The moment also echoed Jay-Z’s comments about his daughter’s musical ability. In a March 2026 interview with GQ, the rapper praised her piano skills and said she has perfect pitch.
Jay-Z explained that Blue can hear a song and teach herself to play it. He also said she does not want piano lessons to turn music into a job.
His comments offered a glimpse into how naturally music comes to Blue, who has also developed her performance skills as a dancer.
Jay-Z welcomes surprise guests to SoFi Stadium
Blue was among several special guests during the first night of Jay-Z’s two-show Los Angeles run. Scarface, John Legend and DJ Khaled also joined him onstage.
Jay-Z performed songs spanning his career, including Izzo (H.O.V.A.), Run This Town, Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem) and Empire State of Mind.
He also paid tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle by incorporating the rapper’s music into his set. The concert drew several celebrity guests, including Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Tia Mowry, Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna, according to reports.
The Los Angeles shows followed anniversary performances in New York, London and Paris. Saturday’s show, scheduled for Oct. 24, was set to close the tour’s Los Angeles run.
Blue Ivy has performed with both parents
Blue’s appearance with Jay-Z builds on years of live performances alongside Beyoncé.
She joined her mother’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023, dancing during My Power and Black Parade. She later appeared in Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, including performances at SoFi Stadium in April 2025.
Blue also featured in Beyoncé’s Christmas Day 2024 halftime performance in Houston, which Netflix presented as part of its NFL Christmas programming.
Earlier in Jay-Z’s anniversary tour, Blue played piano during Feelin’ It at the July 10 opening show at Yankee Stadium. Beyoncé also appeared at that concert.
Her latest performance shows how she is exploring different ways to participate in music, moving between dance and piano while sharing the stage with her parents.
