Sean “Diddy” Combs could leave prison sooner than expected. TMZ reports that officials have moved his projected release date forward by more than three weeks.
The latest adjustment brings the music mogul closer to leaving federal custody. His projected release date has changed several times since he began serving his sentence.
This latest update adds another turn to Combs’ changing prison timeline. He continues to serve his sentence following his 2025 federal conviction.
Diddy’s Release Date Has Changed Several Times
Combs’ projected prison release date has shifted repeatedly since he began serving his 50-month federal sentence.
In September 2026, the Federal Bureau of Prisons listed January 21, 2028, as his projected release date. However, the date was pushed back to March 2, 2028, in October following reports about alleged special treatment inside the prison.
Combs was also transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to a federal correctional facility in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, on October 16, 2026. The Bureau of Prisons confirmed the transfer but did not publicly explain the reason.
TMZ’s latest report indicates that his projected release date has now moved forward again by more than three weeks.
Why Is Diddy Serving Time in Federal Prison?
The Bad Boy Records founder was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison in October 2025 following his conviction on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
A jury acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
Combs has continued challenging his conviction and sentence through an appeal.
His changing release timeline has attracted considerable attention, particularly as reports about his prison conditions and disciplinary issues continue to emerge.
Although his latest reported adjustment brings his projected release closer, the date remains subject to further changes.
For now, Combs’ legal team continues pursuing his appeal while he serves his federal sentence.
