Riley Green is joining The Voice Season 30 as a coach, and the country music world is taking notice. NBC officially announced on May 9 that the CMA and ACM Award-winning country star will join the coaching panel for the upcoming fall 2026 cycle. As a result, this will mark his first season in one of the show’s iconic red chairs. For Green, the move represents a natural next step for an artist who has spent years building one of country music’s most loyal fan bases.
Moreover, his arrival on the show comes at a time when his career is already thriving. Earlier in 2026, he headlined his first sold-out show at Bridgestone Arena and earned multiple ACM Award nominations. These included Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Don’t Mind If I Do (Deluxe), and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
Green shared the news on Instagram on May 9. He captioned the post with the words, “I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall.” Alongside photos of his personalized coaching chair, he also posted a video of himself listening to a welcome message from fellow coach Kelly Clarkson. Unsurprisingly, the reveal sparked immediate excitement across social media, with fans reacting enthusiastically to the announcement.
In the days leading up to the reveal, NBC had already been teasing the news. One teaser featured an image of a flying duck, which referenced Green’s Instagram handle, @rileyduckman. Fans quickly connected the clue to the country singer. In addition, many followers noticed that Green had already liked the teaser post, which further fueled speculation before the official confirmation arrived.
Clarkson welcomed Green with a voicemail and a personalized coach chair. She shared her excitement about competing alongside him and revealed that she has long admired his music. She also mentioned that she had previously covered some of his songs on her show. However, despite being a fan, Clarkson made it clear that she still planned to bring plenty of competition to the season. The playful exchange highlighted the fun chemistry viewers often enjoy between coaches on the show.
Meanwhile, Adam Levine is also set to join the coaching lineup. Together, Clarkson, Levine, and Green now make up three-quarters of the Season 30 panel.
Although this will be Green’s first season as a coach, he is no stranger to The Voice. In recent years, he performed during both the Season 26 and Season 28 finales. Additionally, he has made several television appearances, including a guest-starring role on the Yellowstone spinoff Marshals and the Redneck Island reality series Redneck Island.
At the moment, Green is on his Cowboy As It Gets tour, which is scheduled to wrap up on August 22. After that, he will have enough time to prepare for filming before production begins. Meanwhile, The Voice Season 30 is expected to premiere in late September 2026 on NBC, following the show’s traditional fall schedule. Based on the early fan reaction, Team Riley is already building strong momentum ahead of what could become one of the show’s most competitive seasons yet.
