Drake calls out DJ Khaled on bold new Iceman livestream track

May. 15, 2026 / Entertainment / Author: Praise Swint

Drake calls out DJ Khaled directly on a new song previewed during the latest episode of his Iceman livestream series. The track, tentatively titled Make Them Pay, includes a pointed lyric aimed at Khaled’s silence on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Moreover, the moment immediately became one of the most talked-about lines from the entire livestream episode.

In the lyric, Drake argues that Khaled’s own community is still waiting for him to express support for Palestinian people. Furthermore, he frames it with a reference to the Palestinian flag colors, sharpening the dig with cultural specificity. The line landed with significant impact across social media within hours of the livestream airing.

What the Iceman era means for Drake

The fourth episode of the Iceman livestream series officially launched what Drake is calling his Iceman era. The album marks his first solo studio project since For All the Dogs, which arrived in October 2023. Additionally, a Scary Hours edition of that album followed one month later. Iceman is therefore his most anticipated release in nearly three years.

Furthermore, Iceman is Drake’s first album since his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar dominated headlines throughout the summer of 2024. Consequently, the stakes around this release feel unusually high. Fans and critics alike have been watching closely to see how Drake responds creatively to everything that unfolded during that period.

The album was initially expected to drop last year. However, it was delayed and is now arriving with far more buildup and expectation than originally anticipated. That extended wait has only intensified interest in what Iceman will sound like and who else Drake may address on the project.

Three albums dropping at midnight

The biggest announcement from the May 14 livestream was not the DJ Khaled callout. It was the revelation that Iceman will not drop alone. Drake confirmed during the episode that three albums are arriving at midnight, not just one. That announcement sent fans into immediate speculation about the nature and scope of the surprise releases.

Drake welcomed several special guests to the livestream during the episode. His son Adonis made an appearance, drawing warm reactions from fans online. Additionally, comedian Shane Gillis joined the session, adding a lighter and more playful energy to parts of the broadcast.

Beyond those guest appearances, Drake previewed a significant amount of new music throughout the episode. The songs covered a range of tones and subject matter. Moreover, Make Them Pay stood out immediately for its directness and the boldness of its cultural commentary.

The DJ Khaled angle and why it matters

The decision to call out DJ Khaled is notable for several reasons. Khaled is a prominent Arab-American artist who has faced repeated public pressure to speak more explicitly about the conflict in Gaza. Furthermore, the two men have been collaborative partners for years, making the callout more unexpected than a typical rap beef.

Drake’s lyric does not attack Khaled’s music or career. Instead, it frames the dig as a question about moral courage and public responsibility. Consequently, the line opens a conversation that extends well beyond hip-hop into broader cultural and political territory.

It is worth noting that Drake himself has faced scrutiny over his own public positions on various social issues. Therefore, the callout carries a layer of complexity that fans and commentators are already unpacking across social media and podcasts.
