Marvell stock surges as analysts raise price targets

Shares of Marvell Technology climbed as high as 5.8% during Tuesday morning trading. By midday, the stock held onto approximately 3% gains. The move brought its year-to-date performance to 131.3%. Investors were positioning ahead of the company’s fiscal first-quarter financial results, due after the closing bell on Wednesday, May 28. A wave of bullish analyst reports provided the immediate catalyst for the move.

Marvell currently carries a market capitalization of approximately $171.9 billion. Average daily trading volume typically reaches around 26 million shares. Both figures reflect the stock’s elevated profile among semiconductor investors.

Susquehanna sets a street-high $230 target

Susquehanna Financial analyst Christopher Rolland delivered the most aggressive call of the week. He raised his price target to $230 from $100. That revision established the highest Wall Street forecast for the stock. He maintained his Positive rating alongside the upgrade. At the time of publication, the new target implied roughly 17% additional upside from current trading levels.

Rolland’s bull case centers on two specific growth drivers. First, he highlighted Marvell’s Inphi optical interconnect division. Second, he pointed to its custom XPU silicon design capabilities. Industry channel checks, he noted, returned generally constructive feedback on both fronts.

Furthermore, Rolland cited Amazon’s updated 2026 capital expenditure forecast as a meaningful tailwind. Amazon now expects to spend approximately $218 billion, up from a prior projection of $200 billion. He also flagged a recently announced Anthropic-AWS partnership involving up to 5 gigawatts of computing capacity. That deal, in his view, creates a favorable backdrop for Marvell’s Trainium-related revenue streams.

However, Rolland identified one potential headwind. Limited availability of 3nm chip production capacity could restrict growth opportunities heading into fiscal 2027. Investors should keep that constraint in mind alongside the positive demand signals.

Stifel raises target to $210

Stifel analyst Tore Svanberg also updated his view on Marvell last Friday. He raised his price target to $210 from $140 and maintained his Buy recommendation. Svanberg expects Marvell to exceed the April quarter revenue consensus of $2.40 billion. His primary conviction rests on the company’s Data Center division.

That segment represented 74% of total revenue during the January quarter. Moreover, both Svanberg and Rolland expect the Data Center division to remain the core growth engine going forward. Marvell’s custom chip design services, which involve developing specialized silicon for hyperscale clients, have become an increasingly central part of that narrative.

Optical transceiver growth adds another dimension

On the optical side, Rolland noted that feedback from 800G transceiver module manufacturers has been encouraging. Industry forecasts project shipment volumes will double during 2026. That follows a similar doubling pattern that already played out in 2025. Two consecutive years of volume doubling in a specific product line represents a compelling and durable growth story. Consequently, it adds another concrete reason to expect revenue upside when results land Wednesday.

Broader sector sentiment supports the move

The broader chip sector also traded positively on Tuesday. Market sentiment around AI infrastructure companies remained constructive throughout the session. That tailwind provided additional support for Marvell’s stock performance and suggested the day’s gains were not purely a company-specific event.

Fiscal Q1 2026 results are scheduled for release after Wednesday’s market close on May 28.
