
Filmmaker Courtney Glaudé to Screen New Film at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival
Houston-based filmmaker Courtney Glaudé, known for his emotionally gripping narratives, is bringing his latest work to the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF). His short film, Old Gray Mare, which recently premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival and was featured at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), will be shown at the prestigious event.
Glaudé is an award-winning writer, director, and filmmaker who gained recognition for his critically acclaimed film The Reading starring Mo’Nique. He made his television directorial debut with Tyler Perry Studios on Zatima (Season 3) and Ruthless (Season 6), where he also served as a writer. Under an overall deal with Tyler Perry Studios, Glaudé is slated to direct his first feature film for the studio, As Love Is, a psychological thriller that delves into the cycle of domestic violence. In addition to directing, he is developing and producing both scripted and unscripted content.
The MVAAFF screening of Old Gray Mare will be followed by The Color of Conversation, a discussion with Glaudé, VP of Development & Acquisitions/Producer Antoinetta Stallings, and actor Devale Ellis. The conversation will be moderated by Josh Smith.
The screening and discussion are scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the MV Performing Arts Center, located at 100 Edgartown Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.
