MELISSA A. MITCHELL OPENS HER FIRST ART GALLERY AT BLOOMINGDALE’S LENOX SQUARE WITH IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE “OUT OF MY MIND”
ATLANTA, GA – August 27, 2025 – Internationally recognized artist, author, and designer Melissa A. Mitchell announces the grand opening of her first-ever in-store gallery at Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square in Atlanta. The debut event, Out of My Mind – An Immersive Art Experience, will be on Friday, September 5, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM for local tastemakers, collectors, and culture lovers to step into Melissa’s world where art, fashion, and décor collide.
Known for her vibrant paintings and her visionary design house Abeille Creations (ABL), Mitchell has transformed the way people engage with Black art, from canvas to couture, from murals to home décor, and from Miami to the global stage. Her work has been worn by award-winning celebrities, appeared on runways, and lived in galleries and public spaces across the globe. Now, her bold, colorful vision will live permanently inside Bloomingdale’s.
The grand opening of the gallery will showcase an array of exciting experiences, including the exclusive unveiling of her newest original abstract works and the launch of limited-edition merchandise such as scarves, headbands, tumblers, and home décor pieces. Guests will be immersed in a gallery installation that seamlessly blends art, fashion, and lifestyle, while also enjoying early access to pre-release collections before their official retail debut. Adding a personal touch to the evening, the event will also feature a meet-and-greet with Melissa, giving attendees a unique opportunity to connect with the artist behind the artistic masterpieces.
