What triggered the massive recall
The recall involves Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless sauté pans manufactured by E Mishan & Sons. The affected products include both 10-inch and 11.5-inch pans, typically sold together as a two-piece set.
According to safety officials, the issue stems from a metal cap located on the handle of the pans. When exposed to heat, the cap has reportedly detached and forcefully ejected, creating a hazard for users in close proximity.
This defect prompted an official recall notice issued through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which monitors and responds to consumer product risks nationwide.
98 reported incidents raise concerns
The manufacturer has received at least 98 reports tied to the defect, highlighting a pattern that raised concern among regulators and retailers.
Among those incidents, at least one consumer reported injuries that included bruising and burns. While the number of confirmed injuries remains limited, the nature of the defect has been classified as serious enough to warrant immediate action.
