Gage Jump turned in a dominant outing in his second major league start, retiring 14 consecutive batters through seven innings. Reds 4, Royals 3
Cincinnati mounted one of the night’s most dramatic comebacks. Spencer Steer hit 2 home runs to keep the Reds in contention. Will Benson added a solo shot to tie the game at 3. Then Blake Dunn delivered a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the ninth, scoring the go-ahead run and sending the Reds to a 4-3 victory.
Orioles 4, Red Sox 2
Baltimore got a timely power display from Pete Alonso, who launched a go-ahead two-run home run in the third inning for his 750th career RBI. Kobe Mayo added a double that nearly left the yard. The Orioles shut things down from there, with Rico Garcia closing out the ninth inning. The win pushed Baltimore to 8-3 in their last 11 games and brought them within 3 games of .500.
Marlins 7, Nationals 3
Miami put together a big offensive night built around multiple home runs. Joe Mack hit his first major league home run to open the scoring. Erieberto Hernandez then went back-to-back with another Marlins hitter in the fifth before adding a three-run shot in the ninth inning to blow the game open. Three Marlins players homered in the same inning at one point as Florida pulled away for a 7-3 win.
Tigers 8, Rays 0
Detroit dominated from the first pitch. Gleyber Torres homered in his first at-bat after returning from a month-long absence. The Tigers followed with another barrage that pushed the score to 4-0 quickly. Riley Green added a solo shot in the seventh inning. By the time the final out was recorded, the Tigers had posted an 8-0 shutout — a commanding performance from start to finish.
Twins 5, White Sox 4 and Rangers 6, Cardinals 4
Minnesota rallied from a two-run deficit with help from Luke Raley and Tristan Gray, the latter driving in 2 runs on a key base hit to give the Twins a 4-3 lead. A broken-bat single added an insurance run. St. Louis got a late home run from Nolan Gorman but could not complete the comeback as the Twins held on 5-4. In St. Louis, the Rangers took a 4-4 game into the ninth and broke it open with Joc Pederson’s go-ahead hit and a Josh Young single. Jake Bowers later added a three-run home run to seal a 6-4 Rangers win.
Brewers 8, Giants 3
Milwaukee scored all 8 of their runs with 2 outs. Jake Bowers started the scoring with a three-run shot. The Brewers kept adding in the eighth inning as insurance runs piled up, finishing with an 8-3 win. The Giants managed a pair of runs late but never seriously threatened.
Rockies 7, Angels 0
Colorado erupted early. Hunter Goodman hit a first-pitch home run to open the scoring. Willie Castro followed with a towering three-run blast to right field for his third home run of the season. A TJ Rumfield drive added to the total as the Rockies cruised to a 7-0 shutout.
Pirates 7, Astros 2
Houston’s Yordan Alvarez hit his 21st home run of the season on just the second pitch of the game to give the Astros an early lead. However, Pittsburgh rallied emphatically. O’Neal Cruz launched his 14th home run of the year. Oneil Cruz added another shot and Ke’Bryan Hayes contributed as the Pirates took command. Johnny Paredes capped the rally with a three-run home run in the fifth inning to make it 7-2. The Pirates held on for the victory.
Mariners 8, Mets 3 8th straight win
Seattle continued rolling. Carson Kelly hit 2 home runs on the night. Julio Rodríguez added a solo shot. Paul Goldschmidt delivered a two-run homer to extend the lead. The Mariners won 8-3 to claim their 8th consecutive victory, establishing themselves as one of the hottest teams in baseball heading into June.
Guardians 9, Yankees 4
Cleveland piled it on against New York starter Cam Schlitter. José Ramírez doubled three times and drove in multiple runs as the Guardians chased Schlitter and kept adding. Kyle Manzardo added a home run that briefly gave Cleveland the lead before New York answered. In the end, the Guardians scored 9 runs and won convincingly, with Ramírez once again delivering in a big spot.
