National French Fry Day lands on July 10 this year. Several major chains are marking the occasion with free fries, discounted orders and limited-time promo codes. Some deals need no purchase at all. Others need just a dollar spent or a quick app download. Here is what each chain is offering and how to claim it.
The free fries deals requiring no purchase or just a dollar
Whataburger makes it the simplest of all. Order fries through the Whataburger mobile app and they come free. No minimum purchase applies. Jack in the Box and Carl’s Junior both need just $1 spent to unlock a free order. Carl’s Junior members can choose between waffle fries or a large regular fry. Jack in the Box lets customers pick any size they want.
Smashburger also keeps the bar low. Spend $1 or more and walk away with a free order. The chain offers both sweet potato fries and its signature Smashfries. Customers choose which they prefer.
The free fries deals that need an app or membership
Chick-fil-A One members can claim a free medium fry all week through July 13. Creating an account on the Chick-fil-A mobile app is all it takes. McDonald’s Rewards members can also grab a free order of fries after spending $1 or more through the McDonald’s app.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is offering a large order of shoestring fries for $1.99 to new members who sign up for the loyalty program. Meanwhile, Popeyes Rewards members can score a free order of Cajun Fries after spending $5 or more. Wendy’s matches that threshold. Spend $5 or more through the Wendy’s app and a free fry of any size joins the order. Arby’s rewards members can get an XL fry for $1.99 with a $5 minimum purchase. That deal runs through July 12 at participating locations.
The promo codes worth saving for your fries today
Shake Shack has two separate ways to get free fries today. Use the code FRYDAY26 when ordering any sandwich to receive a free order. Alternatively, use FREEFRY when placing other qualifying limited-time orders. Both codes work through the Shake Shack app, the website or at the in-store kiosk.
White Castle is also running a code deal. Enter CHEESY at checkout online or in the app to receive a free order of signature cheese fries. Customers can bring a printed coupon in person as well.
One chain offering unlimited fries every day of the year
Red Robin does not need a special occasion to give away fries. The chain includes bottomless steak fries with any gourmet burger, sandwich or entrée on its regular menu all year long. National French Fry Day simply gives fans one more reason to visit.
Most deals above run through the individual chain’s app. Downloading any of them takes only a few minutes and often unlocks deals beyond just today’s offer.
