Anthony Joshua returns to the ring on Saturday, July 25, 2026. He faces Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in his first fight since a 2025 car crash that killed two of his close friends. The bout is billed as Danger Before Destiny. Many see it as a step toward a long-awaited Battle of Britain against Tyson Fury.
DAZN carries the fight exclusively. Coverage begins at 6pm UK time. Joshua’s ringwalk is expected around 10:52pm, though that time could shift depending on how the undercard plays out.
How to watch Joshua’s comeback fight
Fans can access the fight through DAZN PPV or a DAZN Ultimate subscription. The PPV option costs £19.99 and comes with a 7-day free trial or a DAZN Standard plan. DAZN Ultimate costs £24.99 per month on a 12-month contract. That plan includes at least 12 pay-per-view fights at no extra cost across the year.
Two British champions also defend their titles on the same card. IBF light-middleweight champion Josh Kelly and WBO super middleweight champion Hamzah Sheeraz both step into the ring for the first time as titleholders.
Who Kristian Prenga is and why he believes he can win
Prenga stands 6-foot-5 and weighs more than 260 pounds, giving him a clear size edge over Joshua. That build has drawn comparisons to what Joshua will eventually need to prepare for against Fury. At 35, Prenga carries a 20-1 record. His only loss came on points against Giovanni Auriemma in 2017. All 20 of his wins have come by stoppage.
Prenga has not fought a widely known opponent before this bout. He enters as a heavy underdog but does not see it that way himself. According to him, Joshua made a serious mistake by picking him as an opponent, and this fight could change both of their lives. Prenga also said he knows Joshua’s team has bigger plans ahead. He added that being overlooked works in his favor and pledged to derail those plans when the two meet in Saudi Arabia this July.
What this fight means for Joshua’s path forward
For Joshua, this bout marks his first step back into competition after personal tragedy paused his career. A win keeps his path toward Fury alive. It also gives him momentum heading into what many fans consider the biggest fight still left to make in the heavyweight division. On the other hand, a win for Prenga would upend those plans entirely and reshape the conversation around who gets access to boxing’s biggest remaining matchups.
