Alpha Kappa Alpha honorary members 2026 now includes six trailblazing women whose accomplishments span medicine, entertainment, technology, and corporate leadership. The historic induction took place during the sorority’s 72nd International Boule in Las Vegas, where Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated honored women whose work has made a lasting impact across multiple industries.
The newest honorary members are Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett-Helaire, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Pauletta Pearson Washington, Merline Saintil, and Robin Washington.
Six accomplished women join Alpha Kappa Alpha
The sorority celebrated the women during Monday’s ceremony, recognizing their achievements and influence in their respective fields.
In a social media statement, Alpha Kappa Alpha praised the new honorary members for their lasting contributions.
“Today, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® welcomed six women whose influence extends far beyond their names.”
The organization continued by describing the honorees as scientists, innovators, artists, executives, and visionaries whose work has transformed industries and created opportunities for others.
Honorees represent medicine, entertainment, and business
Each of the six women has built a distinguished career.
Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett-Helaire earned worldwide recognition as a leading vaccine scientist whose research has advanced public health.
LaTanya Richardson Jackson has enjoyed an acclaimed acting career while also making Broadway history as the first woman to direct an August Wilson play on Broadway with The Piano Lesson. She has also received multiple Tony Award nominations.
Salli Richardson-Whitfield has become one of television’s most respected directors. Her directing credits include Queen Sugar, Scandal, and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Her work also earned her a historic Emmy Award nomination.
Technology and corporate leaders also recognized
The 2026 honorary class extends beyond entertainment.
Merline Saintil has spent decades helping shape Silicon Valley through executive leadership, investing, and advocacy for greater diversity in technology.
Robin Washington, President and Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Salesforce, oversees the company’s financial and operational strategy while also serving on Alphabet’s board of directors.
Meanwhile, Pauletta Pearson Washington brings decades of experience in film, theater, and music, building a career that spans Broadway and Hollywood.
Ceremony highlights Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission
The honorary membership ceremony took place during the sorority’s 72nd International Boule, one of Alpha Kappa Alpha’s signature gatherings.
