Victor Wembanyama has reached another major milestone in his young career.
The San Antonio Spurs superstar will appear as the Victor Wembanyama NBA 2K27 cover athlete for the Standard Edition of the popular basketball video game franchise.
2K announced that NBA 2K27 will launch worldwide on Sept. 4 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Wembanyama will lead the $69.99 Standard Edition cover. Meanwhile, WNBA star Caitlin Clark will headline the $99.99 Deluxe Edition, and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose will appear on the $149.99 Ultra Edition.

Wembanyama became the first San Antonio Spurs player to receive the NBA 2K cover honor.
The 7-foot-4 center called the achievement a dream come true in a statement released by 2K.
The young star explained that basketball extends beyond the court for dedicated fans. He described NBA 2K as another way for players to study the game, improve their skills, and stay connected to basketball culture.
Wembanyama’s rise has been one of the biggest stories in the NBA since the Spurs selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

NBA 2K senior vice president and general manager Zak Armitage praised all three athletes for their impact on basketball.
He said Wembanyama, Clark, and Rose represent different eras and styles while sharing the same passion for the sport.
Wembanyama joins a long list of Spurs legends
The NBA 2K27 cover adds Wembanyama to a group of Spurs icons who have appeared on basketball video game covers.
Before him, legends such as Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and David Robinson represented San Antonio in previous basketball games.
Duncan appeared on the cover of NBA Live 2000, while Parker became the face of NBA Live 09 and the French edition of NBA 2K16.
Robinson also appeared on multiple basketball titles, including NBA Action 95 Starring David Robinson and David Robinson’s Supreme Court.
Wembanyama now joins those names as the newest Spurs star to receive major recognition in the gaming world.
NBA 2K27 prepares for September release
NBA 2K27 will arrive Sept. 4, with preorder options already available.
Players who purchase the Deluxe and Ultra Editions will receive early access starting Aug. 28 at 11 a.m.
The latest installment continues the franchise’s tradition of celebrating basketball’s biggest stars while introducing new features for fans around the world.
