Sasha Obama and Megan Thee Stallion are spending time together on Martha’s Vineyard, where the pair were recently spotted enjoying a summer outing.
The former first daughter and Grammy-winning rapper were seen at Sand Bar & Grille on the Massachusetts island. According to Page Six, an observer described the two women as appearing close, adding to the buzz surrounding their unexpected friendship.
Their connection may not be as surprising as it first seems. Megan recently appeared on Michelle Obama’s podcast, “IMO,” where the former first lady noted similarities between the rapper and her daughter.
Michelle Obama said she immediately recognized a familiar energy in Megan, pointing to the pair’s personalities and sass.
Sasha Obama and Megan Thee Stallion Enjoy Martha’s Vineyard
The Martha’s Vineyard sighting comes as several celebrities continue to spend part of the summer on the island.
Sasha, the younger daughter of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, has largely maintained a private life since leaving the White House spotlight. Her appearance with Megan, however, has put the 25-year-old back in the celebrity conversation.
Megan has also been enjoying time away from the spotlight while continuing to build her career in music, entertainment and business.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama has been spotted on the island as well. The former president reportedly played golf at Farm Neck Golf Club with Charles Phillips.
Other notable names seen around Martha’s Vineyard include Spike Lee, Dave Chappelle, Colin Kaepernick, D-Nice and artist Mickalene Thomas.
Thomas attended a gathering supporting the Dance Theatre of Harlem. The event also brought together several prominent figures, including television host Sunny Hostin.
Paul McCartney Makes Low-Key Restaurant Appearance
Across the Northeast, other celebrity sightings have also been making headlines.
Paul McCartney and his family recently visited Montauk restaurant Talya for a low-key dinner. The Beatles legend reportedly arrived with his wife, Nancy Shevell, daughter Stella McCartney and several grandchildren.
Despite McCartney’s fame, diners reportedly gave the family plenty of space during their meal.
The restaurant also hosted social commentator Alexander Hankin, who organized a dinner focused on whether exclusivity has become the ultimate luxury. Guests included Brooke Shields’ daughter, Grier Henchy, Devorah Rose, Tripoli Patterson and Mia Tonnelli.
92nd Street Y Announces Star-Studded Fall Lineup
New York’s 92nd Street Y is also preparing for a busy fall season filled with celebrity conversations and cultural events.
Jennifer Aniston is scheduled to join wellness coach Jim Curtis on Sept. 2. The pair will discuss Curtis’ book, “The Book of Possibility,” during a special event featuring guided meditation.
Robert Downey Jr. is set to speak with novelist Ayad Akhtar on Sept. 29. Katie Couric will interview Gloria Steinem about her memoir on Sept. 27.
Michael Douglas will also appear Oct. 6 for a conversation about his life and career.
Other scheduled guests include Neil deGrasse Tyson, Jaclyn Smith, Harry Connick Jr., Danny Meyer, John Grisham and Jon Stewart. The lineup also features Patti LuPone, Laurie Anderson and “The Gentleman” stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario.
More Celebrity Sightings Make Headlines
The celebrity sightings continued elsewhere.
Ambassadors Clubhouse, a popular Punjabi restaurant in New York City, temporarily closed after a fire broke out while the restaurant was not operating. No injuries were reported, and the restaurant said it was assessing the damage.
The restaurant had become a celebrity favorite since opening, with Julia Roberts, Kendall Jenner, Ayo Edebiri, Will Ferrell and Fabolous among the stars spotted there.
In the Hamptons, Princess Olympia of Greece and Denmark, Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Alexandra Richards attended a fashion event celebrating designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.
Meanwhile, New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson surprised students at East Hampton High School with a visit. Despite recovering from a wrist and hand procedure, Brunson reportedly joined the basketball players for a game.
For Sasha Obama, however, her summer appearance with Megan Thee Stallion may be the celebrity sighting getting the most attention. Their Martha’s Vineyard outing offers another glimpse into the former first daughter’s life outside her famous family.
