Uras Agee IV is facing scrutiny after claims surfaced that he portrayed himself as a former NFL player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys.
Publicly available football records show that Agee played college football at Division II Shorter University. However, available NFL records do not show him appearing on an NFL roster or playing in a regular-season game.
The claims have gained attention on social media, where users have questioned how Agee was able to present himself as a professional football player despite the lack of an NFL playing record.
Agee has not been criminally charged in connection with the claims about his football career.
Agee played college football at Shorter University
Agee’s documented football background includes a stint at Shorter University, a Division II program in Georgia.
The school’s 2017 football roster listed Agee as a defensive back. Records show him listed at 6 feet tall and 185 pounds.
However, searches of publicly available NFL records have not produced evidence that Agee played for the Buccaneers, Cowboys or another NFL team.
There is also no publicly available evidence showing that he was represented by Roc Nation Sports, despite online material that appeared to connect him with the agency.
Social media fueled the NFL persona
Agee’s social media presence has become a central part of the scrutiny.
Reports say his X profile described him as a Cowboys safety and referenced Super Bowl LV. Other online content reportedly connected him with the Buccaneers and suggested that he had spent several seasons in the NFL.
Super Bowl LV was won by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in February 2021.
Agee also appeared in online videos and graphics that portrayed him as having an NFL career.
One graphic reportedly used styling similar to Roc Nation Sports’ “Welcome to the Family” graphics. However, no public information has established that Agee was a client of the sports agency.
Signed football for Toys for Tots
One of the more unusual details involves a Tampa-area wellness business and a Toys for Tots donation.
In 2023, Ryze Wellness & MedSpa promoted Agee’s participation in a holiday charity drive. The business presented him as having a connection to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Agee reportedly signed a football that the business planned to donate to a child through Toys for Tots.
Photos from the event reportedly showed Agee wearing Cowboys apparel while signing the football.
The incident has since attracted renewed attention because of the questions surrounding his claimed NFL background.
There is no reported evidence that the business lost money because of the alleged misrepresentation.
No NFL playing record has been found
The biggest question surrounding Agee’s story is the absence of an NFL playing record.
Available records do not show Agee appearing in an NFL regular-season game. Reports also say there is no record of him appearing on an NFL roster for the Buccaneers, Cowboys or another NFL team.
That stands in contrast to the professional career portrayed in some of his online profiles and videos.
The discrepancy has led to growing discussion across social media.
Uras Agee IV case draws comparisons
The Agee story has surfaced shortly after another alleged fake NFL-player case involving Daejon Love.
Federal prosecutors recently charged Love in connection with an alleged scheme in which he reportedly posed as a San Francisco 49ers player and defrauded women through romance and investment schemes. That case involves criminal charges and is separate from the allegations surrounding Agee.
Unlike Love, Agee has not been criminally charged in connection with the claims about his football career.
For now, the scrutiny centers on the contrast between Agee’s documented college football history and the NFL career presented in online material.
As more people examine the claims, the story has become another unusual example of how social media can create and amplify a public persona.
