Michael B. Jordan is reflecting on what comes next after years of nonstop work in Hollywood. The actor, producer, and director has built an impressive career while continuing to take on major projects.
Now, as he prepares for another packed season, Jordan is thinking about slowing down long enough to process everything he has accomplished.
The star opened up about his career, future plans, and work ethic in a new interview for Vogue’s October 2026 issue.
Michael B. Jordan has been in work mode for years
In 2019, Jordan told an interviewer that he planned to remain in “work mode” for several more years. At 32, he had already established himself as one of Hollywood’s leading stars.
His role as Adonis Creed in 2015’s Creed helped take his career to another level. The film continued the story of the iconic Rocky franchise and introduced Jordan as a major force in the series.
At the time, however, Jordan knew he wanted to keep building momentum.
He expected that his mid-30s would bring more time to enjoy the rewards of his hard work. Instead, his career continued to accelerate.
Seven years later, Jordan has added an Academy Award to his accomplishments. He also continues to expand his role behind the camera.
Jordan is taking on several major projects
Jordan currently has several projects keeping him busy.
He is finishing his reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair. For the project, he is taking on three major roles as actor, producer, and director.
He is also shooting a Miami Vice reboot alongside Austin Butler. The project gives Jordan another opportunity to take on a high-profile film while continuing his work across different areas of Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Jordan is producing Delphi, a Creed franchise spin-off. The story is set in a boxing gym and expands the world created by the popular boxing series.
Together, the projects show how Jordan has moved beyond simply acting. He is now building stories while also shaping them from behind the scenes.
Michael B. Jordan wants time to reflect
Despite his demanding schedule, Jordan appears aware that constant work can make it difficult to appreciate the journey.
Speaking with Kelefa Sanneh for Vogue, he discussed what may happen after his current run of projects.
Jordan said that is when he expects to do more reflecting and processing of everything that has happened.
His comments offer a glimpse into a different side of the actor. For years, Jordan has focused on moving forward and taking advantage of every opportunity.
Now, he is considering what it means to pause and look back.
Jordan continues to build his legacy
Jordan’s career has developed far beyond the breakout roles that first put him in the spotlight. He has become an actor with major franchise credits while also taking on producing and directing responsibilities.
His work on the Creed franchise remains an important part of that evolution. However, his upcoming projects suggest that he is not finished expanding his creative reach.
Jordan will also attend Vogue World: Milan as part of the October 2026 issue coverage.
For now, the actor remains firmly in motion. Yet his latest comments suggest that reflection could become just as important as the work itself.
