Chilli has shared a new update on T-Boz’s health after her bandmate missed TLC’s recent performance at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The singer, whose full name is Rozonda Thomas, has continued performing while T-Boz recovers from a sickle cell episode.
The update offers encouragement to fans waiting to see the duo perform together again. However, Chilli has not announced a confirmed date for T-Boz’s return to the stage.
How Chilli is keeping TLC’s tour moving
T-Boz, born Tionne Watkins, first missed a TLC performance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on Aug. 28. At the time, Chilli explained that her bandmate was dealing with a sickle cell episode.
Since then, Chilli has taken the lead during the group’s live performances. Videos from tour stops have shown her performing familiar hits, including No Scrubs and Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg, without her longtime partner.
Despite T-Boz’s absence, TLC has continued its It’s Iconic Tour. The concerts also feature Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue, giving audiences a lineup of established acts while Chilli carries the TLC portion of the show.
The group has not announced a replacement for T-Boz. Instead, Chilli has continued to acknowledge her bandmate and the support she receives from fans.

T-Boz has built her career around sickle cell disease
T-Boz, 56, has lived with sickle cell disease since birth. The inherited condition affects hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body.
The disease can cause red blood cells to become rigid and crescent shaped. These cells may block blood flow, leading to episodes of severe pain and other complications.
T-Boz has previously discussed the challenges of managing the condition while touring. She has explained that travel schedules, rest days and performance locations play an important role in protecting her health.
Even with those adjustments, symptoms can arise unexpectedly. Her current absence highlights the challenges performers may face when balancing demanding schedules with a long term medical condition.
Chilli encourages support for T-Boz and sickle cell awareness
During Sickle Cell Awareness Month in September, Chilli also highlighted her bandmate’s determination and encouraged greater awareness of the disease.
She has emphasized the importance of supporting T-Boz while she focuses on recovery. The group has also encouraged fans to learn more about sickle cell disease and consider donating blood when eligible.
Blood donations can be especially important for people with sickle cell disease who need transfusions. The American Red Cross notes that closely matched blood can be easier to find among donors with similar racial or ethnic backgrounds.
TLC has continued performing as a duo since Lisa Lopes, known as Left Eye, died in 2002. For now, Chilli is keeping the group’s music alive onstage while T-Boz takes time to recover.
Fans can look forward to further updates as the singer’s recovery progresses, although her return date remains unconfirmed.
