JAY-Z is giving fans a closer look at his life, music and creative process in a new JAY-Z documentary series.
Titled JAŸ-Z IN 8, the eight-part series features the rap icon in conversation with legendary producer Rick Rubin. The series premieres Sept. 18 on HBO Max.
JAŸ-Z IN 8 centers on intimate conversations between JAY-Z and Rubin.
The series explores the rapper’s lyrics, music, life experiences and creative process. Rubin’s longtime connection to hip-hop also gives the conversations a unique perspective.
The producer co-founded Def Jam Recordings and has worked with some of the biggest names in music. He also produced JAY-Z’s “99 Problems” from the rapper’s 2003 album The Black Album.
The pairing of JAY-Z and Rubin brings together two influential figures in hip-hop.
The official teaser gives viewers a glimpse of their conversations. JAY-Z reflects on how he approaches difficult experiences and turns them into creative material.
