OWN’s long running dating series Ready to Love is moving to a new city. The show enters its Chicago era after more than ten seasons of following singles in search of lasting connection. Ready to Love Chicago premieres Friday, October 2 at 8 p.m. ET and PT on OWN.
The new season follows a group of successful Black singles in their 30s and 40s as they navigate dating in one of the country’s most dynamic cities. Comedian and relationship expert Thomas Nephew Tommy Miles returns to host, continuing a role that has made him a familiar face for fans of the franchise.
A new city brings a new kind of cast
This marks the first time Ready to Love has set a season in Chicago. The cast includes entrepreneurs, executives, attorneys, creatives and community leaders, all looking for something real. For the first time in franchise history, the season also features a sibling duo searching for love side by side.
Throughout the season, Tommy pushes the singles to look past first impressions. Instead, he encourages them to focus on the qualities that actually build lasting partnerships. Conversations throughout the season cover compatibility, communication, family, values and future goals as the cast decides whether they are truly ready to take a chance on love.
Who is behind the new season
Ready to Love is produced for OWN by Will Packer Media and Blink49 Studios. Will Packer Media, led by producer Will Packer, focuses on unscripted and scripted content built around a young, urban millennial audience. The company works in partnership with Discovery and Universal Pictures, and Packer’s film work has earned more than one billion dollars at the box office.
Blink49 Studios operates as an independent production company based in Toronto with additional offices in Los Angeles, Vancouver and New York. The studio develops scripted, unscripted and creator led content, and it is backed by partners Fifth Season and Bell Media.
About the network behind it all
OWN remains the only television network named for a single iconic leader, built around Oprah Winfrey’s creative vision. Launched in 2011 as a joint venture between Harpo Inc and Warner Bros Discovery, the network continues to connect with viewers through social media and its own digital platform, Oprah.com. Fans can also stream OWN through Max, discovery+, WatchOWN.tv or on connected devices.
Ready to Love Chicago premieres October 2, and fans can follow along using the hashtag ReadyToLove across OWN’s social channels.
