Apple TV has dropped the official trailer for Nocturne, a new crime thriller starring Stephen Graham, Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz.
The 10-episode series adapts Lars Kepler’s bestselling crime novels and centers on a dangerous serial killer who pushes a homicide detective and his family into a deadly pursuit.
Graham plays Jurek Walter, a cunning serial killer who becomes the focus of a desperate investigation. Schreiber stars as Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier who becomes a homicide detective.
Beetz plays Saga Bauer, an FBI agent and Jonah’s surrogate daughter. She goes undercover as the investigation closes in on Walter.
Stephen Graham steps into villain role
The trailer puts Graham in a chilling new role as Walter.
His character threatens the safety of Jonah’s family while investigators search for a missing victim. As the case grows more dangerous, Jonah must make difficult choices to protect the people closest to him.
The series brings together Graham and Schreiber for a tense detective-versus-killer story. Meanwhile, Beetz’s character becomes central to the effort to uncover Walter’s secrets.
Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz lead the cast
Schreiber leads the series as Jonah Lynn, a detective who leaves Philadelphia for a quieter life in western Pennsylvania.
That plan quickly falls apart when Walter targets the town and Jonah’s family. The search for Walter’s final missing victim then forces Jonah to send Saga undercover.
The cast also includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.
The series comes from creators and executive producers Rowan Joffé and John Hlavin. Tim Van Patten directed the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer.
Nocturne premieres October 30
Nocturne will premiere globally on Apple TV on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The streamer will release the first two episodes on premiere day. New episodes will then arrive every Friday through December 25.
The series draws from Lars Kepler’s bestselling crime novels, including The Sandman and Lazarus. The authors’ books have sold millions of copies worldwide and reached readers across dozens of languages.
With Graham playing a calculating serial killer and Schreiber leading the investigation, Nocturne brings a dark crime story to Apple TV just in time for the fall television season.
