Kim Kardashian says the years after her divorce from Kanye West gave her room to heal, focus on her children and devote more time to work she cared about. In a recent interview with The Times, the 45 year old reality star and businesswoman said she felt no rush to date. She also said she did not feel incomplete while she was single and was not ready to open herself up to someone new.
Kardashian was married to West from 2014 until 2021. After the marriage ended, she said the period that followed felt good. She wanted time to recover and work on herself before seriously considering another relationship. She also reflected on how relationships can develop more naturally when people stop trying to force them.
Her dating life did not stop completely. Kardashian dated comedian Pete Davidson for about nine months in 2022. After that relationship ended, she remained without a public partner until her connection with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton became public in 2026.
How Kardashian and Hamilton moved closer
Kardashian and Hamilton had known each other for years before romance reports began. They were photographed together at the 2014 GQ Men of the Year Awards with their partners at the time, West and Nicole Scherzinger. Their paths crossed again over the years, but public interest grew in early 2026.
The two were later linked after sightings in the Cotswolds and Paris. They were also seen together at the 2026 Super Bowl, in Tokyo and at Coachella. By June, Kardashian and Hamilton had begun sharing more signs of their relationship on social media.
At the same time, Kardashian has kept some details private. During the Times interview, she chose not to discuss the relationship when asked about it.

What Kardashian wants her children to learn
Kardashian also spoke about raising her four children with lessons she learned from her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian. She said he taught her that a comfortable childhood did not guarantee an easy adult life. His message focused on effort, gratitude and working for the life she wanted.
Those ideas now shape how Kardashian talks with her children. She wants them to understand hard work and appreciate what they have. She also shares parts of her own career journey with them, including the work she has put into her legal studies.
That balance can be difficult for a family living under constant public attention. Still, Kardashian said she wants her children to grow up with gratitude rather than taking their circumstances for granted.
For Kardashian, the years between her marriage and her current relationship became a period focused on healing, family and work. Now that Hamilton is part of her life, she appears more open to the relationship while still keeping parts of it private.
