National Taco Day 2026 is here, and taco lovers have another reason to celebrate. The annual food holiday falls on Tuesday, Oct. 6, making this year’s celebration a Taco Tuesday.
Restaurants across the country are offering discounts, freebies and limited-time taco deals. Several chains are also extending their promotions beyond Oct. 6.
National Taco Day now falls on the first Tuesday of October. The change took effect in 2024, when the holiday moved from Oct. 4 to coincide with Taco Tuesday.
Here are some of the biggest National Taco Day 2026 deals to know.
Taco Bell offers free tacos and a special sauce
Taco Bell is celebrating National Taco Day with a partnership with Duolingo.
The restaurant chain introduced a limited-edition Duo Habanero sauce inspired by Duolingo’s green owl mascot. In the United States, customers can get the sauce free with a Doritos Locos Tacos order.
Customers can also buy a sauce packet for 20 cents. The packets feature taco-themed sayings in different languages.
Meanwhile, Taco Bell Rewards members who do not already subscribe to Duolingo can receive one free month of Super Duolingo. The offer runs through Oct. 6, while codes must be redeemed by Nov. 15.
The chain is also giving away 1,000 limited-edition Duo plushies. Taco Bell Rewards members can enter through the brand’s Tuesday Drops page at 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 6.
Taco Bell customers can also find deals through delivery apps. Uber Eats and Grubhub customers can get a free seasoned beef taco after spending $22 or more. Students using Uber One can get a free Doritos Locos taco with a $20 order.
DoorDash customers can also receive a free taco with a qualifying $22 purchase.
