The cast of Prime Video’s The Greatest took Muhammad Ali’s story from New York to Los Angeles over the weekend.
Stars Jaalen Best, Omari Hardwick, Dana Gourrier, Giovanni Ribisi, Amin Joseph and Kai Parham appeared at CultureCon and ComplexCon. The events gave fans a closer look at the upcoming series about the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali.
The cast appearances came ahead of the series premiere on Prime Video.
The Greatest cast celebrates Muhammad Ali
The weekend events began Thursday, October 1, with Best and Hardwick attending a private screening of The Greatest at Fouquet’s New York.
Entertainment journalist Ashley Dunn moderated a conversation with the stars. The discussion explored father-and-son relationships, Black family, legacy and representation.
The cast also discussed the challenge of portraying Ali beyond his public image. The conversation looked at the young man behind the celebrated boxing champion and global icon.
That focus reflects the central idea behind The Greatest. The series aims to explore Ali’s life through a coming-of-age story rooted in family, identity and personal growth.
Omari Hardwick joins CultureCon
The celebration continued Saturday, October 3, when Hardwick took the main stage at CultureCon in New York City.
Hardwick discussed The Greatest and its exploration of Ali’s life and legacy outside the boxing ring.
CultureCon gave the series an opportunity to connect with an audience focused on culture, creativity and community. The appearance also helped build anticipation for the upcoming Prime Video release.
The Greatest cast heads to ComplexCon
While Hardwick appeared at CultureCon, several members of The Greatest cast connected with fans at ComplexCon in Los Angeles.
Best, Gourrier, Ribisi, Joseph and Parham appeared at an official Prime Video creative installation. Fans heard from the cast about bringing Ali’s world, family and story to a new generation.
The coast-to-coast appearances placed The Greatest at two major cultural events in the same weekend.
The events also highlighted the series’ focus on the people and relationships behind Ali’s public legacy.
