Andy Allo is heading to ABC with a new television role. The actress, known for Amazon’s Upload, has joined The Rookie: North as a guest star ahead of the series’ planned 2027 premiere.
Andy Allo joins ‘The Rookie: North’ as Brooke
Allo will play Brooke, a first-year emergency room resident who develops a connection with Alex Holland, the rookie police officer at the center of the new series. Jay Ellis will portray Alex, whose unexpected career change sets the story in motion.
The casting brings Allo into the expanding The Rookie television franchise. Her character’s connection with Alex could introduce a personal storyline alongside the series’ police investigations.
Although details about Brooke’s role remain limited, her work as an ER resident places her in a medical setting that could intersect with Alex’s duties as an officer.
Jay Ellis leads ABC’s new police drama
The Rookie: North follows Alex, a man who believes he has moved beyond the stage of a midlife crisis. However, a home invasion changes his outlook and pushes him to join the Pierce County Police Department.
Unlike the original The Rookie, which takes place in Los Angeles, the new series shifts the action to rural and coastal Washington state. The setting introduces a different environment for the franchise, where officers may have to respond to emergencies without immediate backup.
The change in location also gives the show an opportunity to explore policing in communities far removed from a major metropolitan area. Alex’s journey into law enforcement will serve as the central storyline as he adjusts to the demands of his new profession.
‘The Rookie: North’ expands ABC’s franchise
The upcoming drama marks the second spinoff in The Rookie franchise. The first, The Rookie: Feds, starred Niecy Nash-Betts but ended after one season in 2023.
With The Rookie: North, ABC is expanding the franchise into a new setting with a different lead character and supporting cast. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027, although an exact release date has not been announced.
Allo’s casting adds another familiar television performer to the upcoming production. As viewers await more details, her role as Brooke offers an early glimpse into the personal relationships that may shape Alex’s story.
