Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is facing two misdemeanor charges after his latest arrest, days before head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed he was no longer with the football program.
Kirkpatrick Jr. was arrested on Oct. 23 on charges of doxing and harassing communications, according to reports citing court records. The arrest came shortly before Alabamaās game against Texas A&M, which the defensive back missed after being suspended for a violation of team rules.
The new allegations have drawn attention to Kirkpatrick Jr.ās status with the Crimson Tide. His latest suspension also follows an earlier suspension during the 2025 season.
Court documents detail allegations against Kirkpatrick Jr.
According to court documents reported by 247Sports and WBRC, a University of Alabama police officer alleged that Kirkpatrick Jr. sent him a Facebook Messenger message on Oct. 20.
The officer also alleged that Kirkpatrick Jr. posted a photograph of him and his family on Facebook with the caption āDis him?ā The officer reportedly raised concerns about the potential safety risks to his family.
The charges include doxing and harassing communications. Under Alabama law, doxing can involve publishing a law enforcement officerās identifying information with the intent that others harass or harm the person.
The allegations have not been proven in court. Kirkpatrick Jr. is facing charges, and the available reports do not establish a conviction in the case.
Kalen DeBoer confirms Kirkpatrick is no longer with Alabama
DeBoer addressed Kirkpatrick Jr.ās status on Monday, Oct. 26, while speaking at the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club.
The Alabama coach confirmed that the defensive back was no longer with the team. He also referred to the programās expectations and team rules but did not publicly detail the circumstances behind the decision.
DeBoer said he was still working to understand certain details of the situation. However, he indicated that the information available to the program was enough to determine that the situation did not align with its standards.
Alabama had announced Kirkpatrick Jr.ās suspension before its matchup against Texas A&M on Oct. 24. The latest development leaves his future with the program uncertain.
Latest arrest follows previous suspension
This is not Kirkpatrick Jr.ās first suspension at Alabama. He missed the final seven games of the 2025 season after an arrest involving charges of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude law enforcement and speeding. He later returned to the team.
Kirkpatrick Jr. had appeared in Alabamaās first seven games of the 2026 season. He recorded five tackles, one pass breakup and one forced fumble, according to reports on his season performance.
The defensive back is the son of former Alabama standout and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Sr.
Kirkpatrick Jr. is also facing a separate misdemeanor charge connected to an alleged hit-and-run incident earlier in the year. Reports indicate that his next scheduled court date for that matter is Nov. 18.
For now, the latest charges and DeBoerās announcement mark a significant development in Kirkpatrick Jr.ās Alabama career. The legal allegations remain unresolved, and the coach has not publicly provided further details about the teamās decision.
