The NFL is expanding its review of Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs after police records revealed that three additional women had reported alleged incidents involving him. The league confirmed today that the new information will become part of its ongoing investigation.
Jacobs, 28, already faces league scrutiny following a May 2026 incident involving his then-girlfriend. He pleaded no contest on Sept. 10 to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. The latest reports concern separate incidents that allegedly took place in 2021 and 2022.
What prompted the NFL to review the new claims?
Police records released Friday by the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department included accounts from three women who contacted authorities after Jacobs’ May arrest. Two women reportedly reached out after news of the case became public. The third came forward through the woman involved in the May incident.
The NFL had already been investigating Jacobs. He spent the first six games of the 2026 season on the commissioner’s exempt list after authorities filed charges. The league later returned him to the active roster, but its investigation remained open.
The newly released records have added more information for the league to consider. The NFL has not announced a final disciplinary decision.
What do the police records say?
The records describe three separate accounts. One woman reported an incident she said happened on Jan. 5, 2022. She alleged that Jacobs struck her and took her phone after an argument at his home.
Another woman described an alleged confrontation in April 2021. She told police that Jacobs pushed her against a wall and removed her belongings from the residence. However, police records noted that officers found no visible injuries or damage consistent with a physical altercation.
A third woman reported an incident in May 2022. She alleged that Jacobs grabbed her, caused scratches and bruises, and took her phone.
These accounts remain allegations. They have not been established in court.
How could the new information affect Jacobs’ NFL status?
The NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy sets a six-game suspension without pay as the baseline for a first domestic violence violation. The policy also allows increased discipline for repeat offenses.
Jacobs already missed six games while on the exempt list. Those games may count toward any eventual suspension. However, he could also have to repay the salary he received during that period.
The league has also been seeking access to video of the May incident. That footage remains unavailable to the public because of a court order.
Where do the Packers stand?
Green Bay has not issued a new public response to the latest reports. Coach Matt LaFleur previously expressed support for Jacobs after the initial case became public.
Jacobs returned to the field in October and played in the Packers’ last two games. He also scored two touchdowns in the team’s Thursday night win over the Carolina Panthers.
For now, Jacobs remains eligible to play. The NFL’s review continues, and the league has not announced whether the additional accounts will lead to further discipline.
