The Los Angeles-based series follows Simon Williams, an aspiring Hollywood actor struggling to gain traction in his career. His journey takes an unexpected turn during a chance encounter with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose glory days may be behind him. Through Slattery, Simon discovers that legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man, setting both actors on parallel paths toward landing roles that could transform their careers.

The narrative explores two performers at dramatically different stages of their professional lives, each doggedly pursuing the life-changing opportunity that Von Kovak’s production represents. The series promises audiences an insider’s view of the entertainment industry, examining the struggles, compromises and aspirations that define careers in Hollywood.

Marvel expands its storytelling universe

Wonder Man represents Marvel Television’s continued expansion beyond traditional superhero narratives. By centering the story around the entertainment industry and the pursuit of acting roles within a superhero film, the series creates layers of meta-commentary about fame, success and the nature of performance itself. Composer Joel P West created an original score for the series that will be available as a standalone soundtrack release. Hollywood Records will distribute the music across all digital platforms beginning January 30, giving fans the opportunity to experience West’s compositions independent of the visual storytelling. The soundtrack release represents an additional way for audiences to connect with the series beyond the episodes themselves.
