Cardi B is preparing for another round of body modification. More than a year after removing 95 percent of her previous illegal butt injections, the rapper announced she plans to reduce the size of her butt once again after finishing her Little Miss Drama Tour.
Backstage at the Kia Forum in California, Cardi revealed she intends to take some time off and travel to Colombia for the procedure. She emphasized the need for privacy and recovery, saying she won’t be available for any contact during that period.
The 33-year-old mother of four—including newborn son with Stefon Diggs, Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 17 months, from her estranged husband Offset—has been open about her extensive cosmetic procedures over the years.
A history of body modifications
Cardi previously underwent surgery to remove illegal liquid silicone gel injections called biopolymers. She disclosed on Instagram Live that multiple procedures were necessary to fully address the injections and associated fibrosis. Cardi shared that she initially received these injections in 2014 in an unlicensed setting for $800, a choice she now advises young people against.
“Don’t resort to butt shots if you’re young,” she cautioned. “It can have long-term effects, and it’s just not worth it.”
Beyond her butt injections, Cardi has also undergone liposuction, two breast augmentations, a rhinoplasty, and porcelain veneers. Despite these extensive procedures, she acknowledged that further reduction would require significant surgery involving cuts from both the top and bottom, followed by months of recovery.
Embracing body autonomy
Cardi emphasized that her decision is personal and about her comfort. On the Call Her Daddy podcast, she explained that while she has already had one reduction, achieving the size she desires again would require major surgical intervention. She stressed that her motivation isn’t external judgment but her own satisfaction and health.
“I learned to live with my body,” Cardi said, noting that recovery and self-care are central to her approach. The rapper’s openness about her cosmetic journey has resonated with fans and sparked conversations about body image, safety, and self-expression.
Other celebrities share their experiences
Cardi is not alone in navigating public scrutiny of cosmetic procedures. Reality star Alexa Lemieux recently underwent a breast lift and implant surgery after stopping breastfeeding. Julia Fox shared mixed feelings about her cosmetic history, including liposuction and veneers, and admitted she might pursue further enhancements in the future.
Brielle Biermann reversed under-eye filler to feel more youthful, while 90 Day Fiancé alum Larissa Lima downsized her breast implants for physical comfort and emotional well-being. Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran and Andy Cohen have also publicly shared experiences with Botox, fillers, and skin treatments, emphasizing the balance between personal choice and public perception.
Other celebrities, including Martha Stewart, Ariana Grande, Jill Zarin, and Lisa Rinna, have discussed procedures ranging from Botox and lip fillers to facelifts and implants. Many highlight the importance of making cosmetic decisions for oneself rather than external expectations.
Cardi B’s announcement adds to a growing conversation about safety, self-care, and informed decision-making in the world of cosmetic procedures. Her transparency continues to encourage dialogue about body image, personal choice, and the realities behind public appearances.
