The 32nd annual Screen Actors Guild Actor Awards, held in Los Angeles, highlighted a range of exceptional performances across film and television. The film Sinners emerged as a major winner, securing the award for film ensemble, cementing its place as one of the ceremony’s standout productions.

Michael B Jordan shines in leading role

Michael B Jordan received the award for male actor in a leading role for his dual performance as the Smokestack twins in Sinners. He triumphed over fellow nominees including Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme and Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another. Jordan later returned to the stage as Sinners was recognized for its ensemble achievement.

Leading and supporting acting accolades

Jessie Buckley was awarded female actor in a leading role for her work in Hamnet. In supporting categories, Sean Penn was honored for his performance in One Battle After Another, while Amy Madigan took home the award for her portrayal of Aunt Gladys in Weapons. Action enthusiasts also celebrated the stunt ensemble award, which went to Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.

Television categories spotlight ensemble and comedy

In comedy television, The Studio dominated the ensemble category. Seth Rogen received the award for male actor in a comedy series, and Catherine O’Hara was posthumously recognized as female actor in a comedy series. The recognition for O’Hara was accepted by Rogen following her passing in January.

Drama series and limited series winners

The drama series ensemble award went to The Pitt, with Noah Wyle receiving male actor honors and Keri Russell winning female actor for her work in The Diplomat. In limited series and television film categories, Owen Cooper won male actor for Adolescence, while Michelle Williams earned female actor accolades for Dying for Sex. The Last of Us took home the award for television stunt ensemble.

SAG Awards as an Oscars barometer

With actors forming the largest voting body within the Academy, the SAG Actor Awards often provide a preview of potential Oscar contenders, though outcomes do not always align. The 2026 ceremony was streamed on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, hosted by Kristen Bell. The evening recognized both established stars and emerging talent across the entertainment industry.
