A 35-year-old woman accused of firing multiple shots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other related charges.
Shooting incident at Beverly Crest
Authorities say Ivana Lisette Ortiz allegedly used a semi-automatic rifle to fire rounds at the Beverly Crest property earlier this month while Rihanna was at home. Also present at the time were her partner, A$AP Rocky, their three children, Rihanna’s mother, and two staff members. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Legal proceedings underway
Ortiz appeared in court Wednesday, facing serious charges related to the shooting. Prosecutors claim the attack could have endangered multiple lives, including those of Rihanna and her family. The case is ongoing, with Ortiz maintaining her plea of not guilty.
Potential financial consequences
In addition to criminal charges, Ortiz has been ordered to pay a total of $3 million in damages, though legal experts note that this may be subject to appeals as the case develops.
Case draws national attention
The shooting at a high-profile celebrity’s home has drawn widespread media coverage and heightened scrutiny on security measures at celebrity residences. Legal observers say the case could take months to resolve, with significant attention on both criminal and civil proceedings.
