Snowfall spinoff expands cast with major new additions

Mar. 29, 2026 / Press Release / Author: Praise Swint

The upcoming untitled Snowfall spinoff is expanding its cast, adding a group of established actors and rising talent as production continues. The new additions join previously announced series regulars Gail Bean, Isaiah John, Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith and Simmie Sims III.

The latest casting news signals a continued investment in building out the world of the original FX drama, which became known for its layered storytelling and complex characters. With a mix of experienced performers and fresh faces, the new series is shaping up to carry that legacy forward.

 Mykelti Williamson brings veteran presence

Mykelti Williamson joins the cast with a long history across film and television. He is widely recognized for his role as Bubba in Forrest Gump, and has built a career that spans decades.

His recent projects include upcoming appearances in Is God Is and Season 2 of Dark Matter. He has also appeared in The Last Rodeo, Government Cheese and Unstoppable: The Anthony Robles Story.

On television, Williamson has taken on roles in series such as Fallout, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago P.D. and Justified. His addition brings depth and experience to the evolving ensemble.

Nicki Micheaux adds versatility on and off screen

Nicki Micheaux joins the lineup following a wide-ranging career in television and film. She recently starred in the horror feature Night Patrol and is set to appear in the upcoming season of Ballard.

With more than 100 television episodes to her name, Micheaux is known for roles in Lincoln Heights, The Shield, In the Dark and Animal Kingdom. She is also a three-time NAACP Image Award nominee.

Beyond acting, she has stepped behind the camera, directing Summer of Violence and mentoring creatives through her initiative supporting independent filmmakers.

Brandon Mychal Smith continues strong TV run

Brandon Mychal Smith adds another high-profile project to his résumé. He previously starred in Four Weddings and a Funeral and gained attention for his role in You’re the Worst.

Smith has also appeared in films such as Get On Up, where he portrayed Little Richard, as well as Dirty Grandpa and The Most Hated Woman in America. His voice work includes Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

His experience across comedy and drama positions him as a dynamic addition to the cast.

Isidora Goreshter and Eric Balfour join ensemble

Isidora Goreshter, known for her roles in Shameless and Condor, joins the project alongside Eric Balfour, whose credits include Six Feet Under, Ray Donovan and The Offer.

Goreshter has also appeared in films such as Happy Anniversary and continues to work on upcoming projects, while Balfour brings decades of experience across television and film.

Their addition further strengthens the ensemble with performers familiar to audiences across multiple genres.

Richard Portnow and Quincy Chad expand the cast

Richard Portnow, a veteran of stage and screen, joins with an extensive body of work that includes The Sopranos, Seinfeld and Nip/Tuck. His film credits span decades, including Seven and Good Morning, Vietnam.

Quincy Chad also joins the cast after previously appearing in Snowfall. His television work includes roles in S.W.A.T., Power and The Punisher.

Together, they bring a blend of familiarity and continuity to the expanding story.

Rising talent rounds out the lineup

Zaire Adams and Demetrius Grosse complete the latest additions. Adams began his career on Broadway in The Lion King and has since appeared in projects like Freeridge and Senior Year.

Grosse, known for roles in Banshee, Justified and Fear the Walking Dead, continues to build a diverse career across television and film. He recently appeared in Marvel’s Wonder Man and has also expanded into producing and music.

Building on a successful legacy

The original Snowfall series became one of FX’s defining dramas, exploring complex themes through a character-driven lens. The new spinoff looks to continue that approach, supported by a cast that blends established names with emerging talent.

With production underway, the growing ensemble suggests a series focused on expanding the world while maintaining the storytelling depth that defined its predecessor.
