NBA top plays go viral after insane playoff clutch moments

The NBA top plays on May 10, 2026 centered on one of the more gripping playoff nights of the postseason so far. The Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs delivered a high-intensity clash that came down to fourth-quarter execution, clutch shooting and momentum swings. Minnesota came out on top 114–109, evening the series in the process. Here is a breakdown of the five best moments from the night.

Anthony Edwards takes over in the clutch

Edwards saved his best for last. After a competitive and physical three quarters, he shifted into another gear entirely in the final period. He scored 16 of his game-high 36 points in the fourth quarter alone. The defining moment came when he buried a deep jumper from roughly 27 feet out. That shot broke San Antonio’s resistance and triggered a decisive Minnesota run. From that point, the Timberwolves never looked back. Edwards’ performance was the clearest reminder of what he is capable of when a game is on the line.

Wembanyama’s rim protection keeps Spurs in it

Even in defeat, Victor Wembanyama made his presence felt throughout the night. The San Antonio center controlled the paint with his signature combination of shot-blocking instincts, length and anticipation. Minnesota’s offense spent the entire game adjusting its approach around him. Wembanyama altered drives, contested shots at the rim and made scoring in the lane a difficult proposition for every Timberwolves player not named Anthony Edwards. His defensive performance was a highlight in its own right, even if the scoreboard did not reflect it by the final buzzer.

Minnesota’s supporting cast surges in the closing stretch

Edwards did not do it alone. The Timberwolves’ role players delivered when it mattered. Naz Reid was particularly effective in the closing minutes, contributing key buckets and rebounds as Minnesota worked to hold off a resilient San Antonio team. The collective effort gave the Wolves the depth they needed to sustain the pressure of a back-and-forth finish. When San Antonio pushed back, Minnesota had answers from multiple directions. That balance proved to be the difference.

 Defensive stop swings the momentum

One of the night’s most important sequences did not show up in a box score but shaped the outcome entirely. Late in the fourth quarter, Minnesota executed a critical defensive stand that forced San Antonio into poor shot selection. The Spurs generated turnovers and missed opportunities during that stretch. As a result, the Timberwolves gained control of the possession game at exactly the right moment. It was the kind of stop that separates playoff teams from pretenders, and Minnesota delivered it without hesitation.

The closing shot seals an emotional win

The night ended the way the best playoff games do  with a momentum-sealing shot and a building that came completely unglued. A late scoring play, either a clutch jumper or a transition finish, capped Minnesota’s comeback and sent the crowd into a frenzy. The energy in the building peaked in those final seconds as the Timberwolves pulled away and confirmed what Edwards had started in the fourth quarter. It was the kind of finish that playoff series are built on.

What the night tells us about this series

Edwards is the undisputed headliner of this matchup. His fourth-quarter performances have now become the story of the series. However, Wembanyama’s presence ensures that San Antonio will not go quietly. The Spurs have the defensive anchor to make things difficult. Minnesota, meanwhile, has shown it can close. With the series now tied, the next game takes on enormous weight for both sides.
