Her paddock debut this season put Ferrari’s garage at the center of a very different spotlight
Kim Kardashian arrived at the Monaco Grand Prix today and immediately pulled focus in a paddock that does not need much help drawing attention. She made her entrance by boat before moving through the circuit to join the Ferrari camp ahead of qualifying, marking her first Formula One paddock appearance of the 2026 season.
Monaco was always going to be the moment
Speculation about Kardashian’s relationship with Lewis Hamilton had been building for months. Reported sightings in the UK gave way to further appearances in Paris, Tokyo and Malibu, and social media activity that fans read as confirmation. Monaco, with its built-in mix of yachts, glamour and global celebrity access, turned out to be the weekend where that story moved fully into the open.
Her arrival by boat fit the setting without effort. The circuit is already one of the most photographed venues on the Formula One calendar, and adding Kardashian to that backdrop amplified the weekend’s off-track noise considerably.

Hamilton has the pace to back up the attention
While Kardashian’s presence dominated social media, Hamilton was doing serious work on track. He finished second in the opening practice session behind teammate Charles Leclerc, then went fastest in FP2 with a lap of 1:13.026 as Ferrari completed a one-two ahead of Max Verstappen. FP3 saw Kimi Antonelli go quickest for Mercedes, though Hamilton held on to third behind Antonelli and Leclerc.
Ferrari’s car has looked strong through Monaco’s slower corners all weekend, which gives both Hamilton and Leclerc a realistic shot at a front-row qualifying result. On a street circuit where overtaking is close to impossible, starting position matters more than almost anywhere else on the calendar.
Hamilton has already shown he can compete at the front in red this season. He has scored points at every round, taken two podiums and sits among the top drivers after five races. A strong Monaco result would sharpen the argument that his move to Ferrari can still produce what he came for.
Fans split on the celebrity attention
Reaction to Kardashian’s appearance split quickly along predictable lines. Hamilton supporters welcomed anything that seemed to lift the mood around his campaign. Others pushed back on the amount of coverage a celebrity visit generates when the racing itself is the story.
Both reactions say something true. Appearances like this one draw people to Formula One who would not otherwise follow the sport, which serves the broader goal of growing its audience. At the same time, Monaco has enough history and drama on its own without needing a celebrity subplot to justify the attention.
Qualifying will settle what kind of weekend this actually becomes for Hamilton. If Ferrari converts its practice pace into a pole or a podium, Kardashian’s boat entrance may end up being a footnote to something much bigger.
