Famous Amos is stepping beyond the cookie aisle and into the streaming space. The beloved snack brand is launching Famously You, an original series premiering exclusively on The Roku Channel on Thursday, July 24. The show carries the spirit of the brand’s founder directly into its creative DNA. Rev Shawn Amos, son of Famous Amos founder Wally Amos, serves as host. Gabrielle Union executive produces the series.
Together, Union and Shawn Amos bring significant creative credibility to what is an unusual but fitting brand extension. Famous Amos has always stood for individuality and the courage to pursue your own path. Famously You turns that idea into a full television format.
What Famously You is about
Each episode of Famously You features real people with extraordinary passions who have committed to living as their most authentic selves. Those everyday individuals sit down with surprise celebrity guests for candid conversations about identity, purpose and what makes each person genuinely one of a kind. The show does not center fame or achievement for its own sake. Instead, it celebrates the specific, personal qualities that make each guest impossible to replicate.
That premise connects directly to the legacy of Wally Amos, who built the Famous Amos brand on the foundation of his own distinct personality, passion and refusal to conform to conventional expectations. His son carrying that message into a new medium gives the series both emotional weight and cultural authenticity.

The celebrity guest lineup
Famously You brings together a diverse and accomplished group of celebrity guests across entertainment, culinary arts and performance. Robert Ri’chard, Naturi Naughton-Lewis and Michael Urie all appear in the series. Rachel Dratch joins them alongside two-time Top Chef winner Buddha Lo. Legendary tap dancer Savion Glover also appears as one of the show’s featured guests.
The range of guests reflects the show’s commitment to exploring different expressions of individuality across different fields and life paths. Each celebrity brings their own story of choosing authenticity over conformity, adding depth to the conversations with the show’s everyday guests.
Gabrielle Union’s role as executive producer
Gabrielle Union’s involvement as executive producer signals serious creative investment in the project. Union has built a reputation in recent years for backing projects that center meaningful storytelling and authentic Black voices. Her presence behind the camera adds both visibility and creative accountability to Famously You.
Furthermore, Union’s public persona aligns naturally with the show’s core message. She has spoken openly and consistently about the importance of self-expression, vulnerability and refusing to shrink yourself to fit others’ expectations. Those values run through every aspect of Famously You’s premise.
Why this matters for Famous Amos
Brand-led streaming content has become an increasingly common strategy for legacy consumer brands looking to deepen their emotional connection with audiences. Famous Amos, with its rich founder story and built-in cultural nostalgia, has more natural storytelling material than most. The decision to center Rev Shawn Amos as host keeps the brand’s origin story alive while pushing it forward into a new medium and a new generation of fans.
