FX is expanding the world of Snowfall with a new chapter.
“The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” is set to premiere Tuesday, September 8, 2026, on FX and Hulu. The upcoming series continues the legacy of the late John Singleton while introducing a new story centered on two familiar Snowfall characters.
The spinoff comes from creator Malcolm Spellman and follows Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons as they navigate a changing Los Angeles during the rise of West Coast hip-hop.
Gail Bean returns as Wanda Bell, while Isaiah John reprises his role as Leon Simmons.
The pair leave behind the drug game as they pursue new opportunities in 1990s Los Angeles. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of the city’s growing rap scene, where music, ambition and street culture collide.
Wanda and Leon are looking to reinvent themselves, but their pasts continue to shape their futures.
As they work to build something lasting, the characters face difficult choices involving loyalty, survival and ambition.
