Angel Reese has made WNBA history once again.
The Atlanta Dream forward recorded her 29th double-double of the 2026 season during Sunday’s 89-81 victory over the Minnesota Lynx, setting a new WNBA single-season record.
Reese finished the game with 15 points and 11 rebounds as Atlanta defeated Minnesota, which entered the matchup with the best record in the league.
Her 29th double-double moved her past Alyssa Thomas, who recorded 28 double-doubles for the Connecticut Sun during the 2023 season.
Reese breaks Alyssa Thomas’ record
Reese entered Sunday’s game just one double-double away from tying Thomas’ record.
She reached the milestone during the fourth quarter.
With 5:40 remaining, Reese grabbed her 10th rebound to reach double figures in both points and rebounds. She added another rebound later in the game to finish with 11.
The achievement comes just one day after Reese tied Thomas’ record with her 28th double-double against the Portland Fire.
She wasted little time turning the tie into a new record.
Angel Reese continues historic season
The latest milestone adds to what has already been a remarkable season for Reese.
The 24-year-old forward has established herself as one of the WNBA’s most dominant rebounders since joining the Atlanta Dream.
Earlier this month, Reese set the WNBA single-game rebounding record with 26 rebounds against the Los Angeles Sparks.
That performance also helped her break the league’s single-season rebounding record.
Reese has now recorded double-digit rebounds in 14 consecutive games dating back to July, further highlighting her consistency on the boards.
Reese leads Atlanta Dream into playoffs
The record-breaking performance also helped Atlanta secure an important victory against Minnesota.
The Dream defeated the Lynx 89-81 at Gateway Center Arena, improving their record to 26-14.
Atlanta has already secured a playoff spot and entered the game sitting fifth in the playoff standings.
With four regular-season games remaining, Reese and the Dream will have an opportunity to build momentum before the postseason begins.
The WNBA will now take a break for the FIBA Women’s World Cup before regular-season play resumes.

Reese’s 29th double-double gives her another major achievement just weeks before the WNBA playoffs.
The three-time All-Star has already led the league in rebounding in both 2024 and 2025. She also holds the WNBA single-game rebounding record after her 26-board performance earlier this month.
Now, she owns the league’s single-season double-double record.
With more games still ahead in her 2026 campaign, Reese has a chance to extend the record even further.
For a player who entered the WNBA as the seventh overall pick in 2024, her latest achievement marks another major step in an increasingly historic career.
