Angel Reese is making WNBA history again. The Atlanta Dream star recently added another franchise record to her growing list of accomplishments.
Reese set Atlanta’s single-season rebounding record during the Dream’s 104-69 win over the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 13. She finished the game with 15 rebounds, bringing her season total to 384. That pushed her past Tina Charles’ previous Atlanta record of 374 rebounds, set in 2024.
The latest milestone adds to an already remarkable 2026 season for Reese.
Angel Reese breaks another Dream record
Reese entered the Connecticut game as one of the WNBA’s top rebounders. She then added another major achievement to her résumé.
The 24-year-old forward grabbed 15 rebounds against the Sun. Five came on the offensive glass, giving Atlanta valuable second-chance opportunities.
Her rebounding has become one of the defining parts of her game. The WNBA describes Reese as one of the league’s premier rebounders. She also entered the 2026 season after leading the league in rebounding in 2025.
Reese’s latest record also shows how quickly she has made an impact in Atlanta.
The Dream acquired her from the Chicago Sky in April. Atlanta sent Chicago first-round picks in 2027 and 2028 as part of the deal.
Angel Reese already made WNBA history this season
The Atlanta record is not Reese’s only major accomplishment in 2026.
Earlier this season, Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds. She reached the milestone in just 79 games. That was 10 games faster than the previous record held by Tina Charles.
Reese also continued her remarkable run of double-doubles.
On Aug. 10, she recorded her 22nd double-double of the season against the Toronto Tempo. Her 20 points and 14 rebounds gave her the Atlanta Dream’s single-season record for double-doubles.
That performance came during a 107-95 Atlanta victory. The win improved the Dream’s record to 22-11 at the time.
Reese continues to dominate the boards
Reese’s rebounding numbers have been a major reason for her success.
She entered the season with a reputation as one of the WNBA’s most productive frontcourt players. Atlanta highlighted her relentless rebounding and physical style when it announced her arrival in April.
Her numbers also helped earn her another All-Star selection. Reese was named a reserve for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, marking her third straight All-Star appearance.
The achievement was even more impressive because Reese had already established herself as a historic rebounder before joining Atlanta.
As a rookie with Chicago in 2024, she set WNBA rookie records for rebounds per game and consecutive double-doubles.
Angel Reese’s record-setting season continues
Reese’s latest record gives Atlanta another reason to celebrate her impact.
The Dream now have a new single-season standard for rebounds. With games still remaining, Reese can add even more to that total before the season ends.
Her ability to control the glass has also helped Atlanta build one of the league’s stronger frontcourts. Reese has continued to produce even when her scoring numbers have fluctuated.
That was clear against Connecticut. She scored eight points but still made a major impact with 15 rebounds, four blocks and three steals.
For Reese, another record is simply the latest chapter in a rapidly growing WNBA résumé.
At only 24, she has already rewritten several league and franchise records. Now, her Atlanta rebounding mark gives her another piece of history to her name.
