North West stepped into the spotlight on Saturday night with her first solo concert in Chicago. The 13-year-old performer took over The Vic Theatre as her parents, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, showed up to support her.
Kim and Kanye attended the show separately. The former couple watched from opposite sides of the VIP balcony as their daughter took the stage.
The special night marked a major moment for North as she continues to build her career as a young artist.

North headlined the all-ages, one-night concert at The Vic in Chicago on Sept. 5.
Her parents both made time to attend despite their busy schedules. Kim first visited her SKIMS flagship store on Chicago’s Gold Coast earlier that day.
Kanye, meanwhile, had just completed two sold-out concerts at Soldier Field.
The two stars later arrived separately at The Vic. They remained apart during the show but shared the same goal of supporting their daughter.
North performed songs from her debut album during the concert. She also treated fans to an unreleased song that samples her father’s track “Coldest Winter.”
North West brings her debut album to the stage
North released her debut album, N0rth4evr, in May. The project features six tracks and runs for about 11 minutes.
The young artist blends several genres across the project. Her sound incorporates Rage Rap, Emo, HyperPop, Alternative Rock and Metal.
North has also developed a distinctive approach to performing. When asked to describe her performance style, she previously used three words: “Fun, reliving, and exciting.”
Her Chicago concert gave fans an opportunity to see that style firsthand.
North West keeps performing after tour cancellation
The concert came after North’s planned Kimokawaii Tour was canceled.
The 14-date North American tour would have featured rapper Molly Santana. Instead of stepping away from music after the cancellation, North continued preparing for her fans.
Her decision to perform solo in Chicago gave her an opportunity to take control of the moment.
The show also allowed North to present her music on her own terms while continuing to develop her identity as an artist.

Although Kim and Kanye watched the concert separately, both parents made the trip to see North perform.
