Jalen Hurts is making a major investment in Philadelphia students.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has donated $600,000 to help improve cooling at Northeast High School. The contribution will fund a new HVAC system for the school.
Hurts recently visited the school, where his foundation announced the donation. He also spent time speaking with students about the challenges they face during hot weather.
The donation marks the largest contribution from the Jalen Hurts Foundation to date.

Northeast High School already has window air-conditioning units in classrooms. However, cooling larger spaces has remained difficult.
The school’s auditorium, in particular, needs a stronger system to keep temperatures comfortable.
The new HVAC system is expected to improve conditions for students and staff. It will also help make the space more comfortable for community events.
During his visit, Hurts joked with students about their desire for better cooling.
“I can imagine you guys would like ACs,” he said.

In 2024, Hurts committed $200,000 toward installing hundreds of air-conditioning units across 10 Philadelphia public schools.

Instead of focusing only on individual classroom units, the new project at Northeast High will address cooling in a larger shared space.
