‘Beware Boiúna’ Hits Theaters October 2 With Amazon Beast

A new horror thriller is bringing a legendary jungle predator to the big screen. Tickets are now on sale for “Beware Boiúna,” with a new trailer and key art also released ahead of its theatrical debut.

The film follows a medical mission deep in the Amazon that spirals into a fight for survival. A colossal ancient predator named Boiúna awakens to reclaim her territory, and in the jungle, she alone decides who lives and who dies.

A cast built for survival horror

Kiana Madeira, Jessica Rothe and Logan Marshall-Green lead the film’s ensemble cast. Madeira previously starred in Netflix’s “Fear Street” trilogy, while Rothe is known for playing Tree Gelbman in the “Happy Death Day” films.

Marshall-Green currently appears in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” and the television series “Marshals.” Together, the trio anchors a story that blends ancient myth with modern survival stakes.

The legend behind the monster

Boiúna draws from Brazilian folklore, where the creature appears as a giant serpent living in the rivers of the Amazon. According to the legend, the snake can shift into other shapes to protect its territory, including objects, humans and animals.

Director Mike P. Nelson said he wanted the film grounded in character before unleashing the creature itself. He has described wanting audiences to feel invested in the group’s survival, not just witness a straightforward monster movie.

Behind the camera

Nelson directs “Beware Boiúna” from a screenplay by Alan McElroy, based on a story by McElroy and Tony Giglio. Nelson previously directed the 2025 remake of “Silent Night, Deadly Night” and contributed segments to the horror anthology “V/H/S/85.”

Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer produce the film. Lionsgate presents the project as a Constantin Film and JB Pictures production, made in association with North.Five.Six.

Release details

“Beware Boiúna” carries an R rating for bloody violent content, grisly images and language. The film runs 104 minutes and opens in U.S. theaters on October 2, 2026.

New images, trailer footage and clips are now available for download ahead of the release. The film arrives as one of several horror titles competing for audiences this fall season.
