In a recent Instagram post, Crump amplified a message from the Sainted Trap Choir calling for answers on behalf of Wells’ family. The message emphasized that the case should not be forgotten as the family continues to seek clarity about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Wells disappeared during a Fourth of July boating trip to Horn Island, Mississippi. His body was found two days later. His family has continued to raise questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Ben Crump urges the public not to forget Nolan Wells
Crump’s post called for continued attention to Wells’ case and expressed support for his grieving family. The Sainted Trap Choir’s message similarly urged the public to keep asking what happened to the teenager.
The post comes as Wells’ family continues to seek answers and greater transparency. Crump and other supporters have argued that important questions about Wells’ final hours remain unanswered.
The message does not announce a new investigative finding. Instead, it renews public attention on a case that has drawn concern from civil rights advocates, public figures and the teenager’s loved ones.
What happened to Nolan Wells?
Wells, an 18-year-old student-athlete from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, went on a boating trip to Horn Island with friends on July 4, 2026. He was not with the group when they returned, and his family reported him missing.
A U.S. park ranger found his body on July 6. Authorities investigated the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death.
The case raised questions about the events leading up to Wells’ death, including accounts of his final hours and injuries documented during autopsy examinations.
An independent autopsy commissioned by the family reportedly found blunt-force injuries to the back of his head and other areas of his back. However, those findings alone do not establish how the injuries occurred or whether they contributed to his death.
Family continues to seek a federal investigation
Wells’ parents have continued to call for a thorough and transparent investigation. Crump has supported their efforts, arguing that unresolved questions warrant further scrutiny.
According to previous reporting, a Jackson County grand jury did not recommend criminal charges. The family’s representatives have continued to seek answers about the findings and the circumstances surrounding Wells’ death.
The distinction is important. The absence of criminal charges does not, by itself, answer every question raised by the family. At the same time, allegations and concerns should not be presented as proof of wrongdoing.
President Donald Trump reportedly said in October that he was considering asking the FBI to investigate Wells’ death. That statement did not, on its own, confirm that a new federal investigation had formally opened.
Public attention remains on Nolan Wells’ story
The latest message from Crump and the Sainted Trap Choir reflects the family’s continued effort to keep Wells’ story in public view.
Supporters are calling for transparency and a clearer account of the circumstances surrounding his death. Meanwhile, questions about responsibility should be handled carefully while the available public information does not establish a definitive explanation.
For Wells’ family, the central question remains what happened during the hours before his body was found. Crump’s post asks the public not to lose sight of that question as the family continues pursuing answers.
