Taye Diggs is heading to the Caribbean for a romance filled with unexpected twists in Lifetime’s upcoming movie, Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise with You. The network has released the official trailer for the film, which premieres Saturday, November 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Diggs plays Carter, a retired NFL star who travels to Nevis hoping to enjoy a quieter chapter of his life. However, his plans change when he meets Simone, an interior decorator trying to rebuild her life after betrayal.
Heather Hemmens plays Simone, whose growing connection with Carter takes an unexpected turn when they discover they want the same valuable piece of land. The property has a special meaning for Simone because it once belonged to her grandmother.
Taye Diggs and Heather Hemmens lead the island romance
Paradise with You combines romance, family history and a property dispute against the backdrop of Nevis, a Caribbean island known for its scenic landscapes.
Carter arrives on the island after retiring from professional football. His encounter with Simone introduces him to a new possibility for love. However, their shared interest in the land threatens to complicate their relationship.
For Simone, the property represents more than a real estate opportunity. Its connection to her grandmother gives the dispute a personal dimension that could force her to weigh her feelings for Carter against her family history.
The film’s central conflict raises a familiar romantic question: Can two people build a future together when their ambitions appear to put them on opposite sides?
Cynthia Bailey joins the cast
Reality television personality and actress Cynthia Bailey also stars in the movie as Amber, Simone’s confidante.
Amber’s role places her close to Simone as the interior decorator navigates betrayal, a new romance and the dispute over her grandmother’s former property.
Bailey is widely recognized for her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Her appearance adds another familiar face to the film’s ensemble.
The movie’s Caribbean setting also gives the story a distinctive atmosphere, pairing the beauty of island life with the emotional challenges facing its main characters.
Terry McMillan reunites with Taye Diggs
The movie marks the fourth film collaboration between bestselling author Terry McMillan and Diggs.
McMillan, known for novels exploring relationships and personal growth, is part of the project as an executive producer. Diggs and Hemmens also executive produce alongside her.
The collaboration continues a creative partnership built around relationship-driven storytelling. This time, the story places romance within a conflict involving family legacy, personal reinvention and competing claims to valuable land.
The film also adds to Lifetime’s slate of romantic dramas featuring recognizable television and film performers.
When does Paradise with You premiere?
Lifetime has scheduled Terry McMillan Presents: Paradise with You for Saturday, November 7, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time.
