Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The move comes days after reports that the music mogul experienced a medical emergency while incarcerated.
The Bureau of Prisons confirmed Combs’ new location today, but declined to explain why he was moved. The agency cited privacy, safety and security considerations when discussing inmate placement.
Combs’ representative, Juda Engelmayer, also acknowledged the transfer but said the team could not speak to the circumstances behind the decision.
Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption, the representative said in a statement.
Diddy moves to a Pennsylvania federal prison
Combs was previously held at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. He is now incarcerated at FCI Allenwood Low, a low-security federal facility near Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The transfer follows reports about disciplinary issues during his time at Fort Dix. TMZ reported that Combs received multiple write-ups involving alleged phone violations and fights. The outlet also reported that he had been sent to the prison’s Special Housing Unit twice.
However, federal officials have not confirmed that these reported incidents prompted his transfer. The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly identified a reason for the move.
Transfer follows reported medical emergency
Combs was reportedly taken to a hospital over the weekend after experiencing a medical issue involving a head injury, according to sources cited by ABC News. He returned to Fort Dix early Sunday morning.
TMZ separately reported that Combs had been involved in an altercation with another inmate. However, the Bureau of Prisons disputed that account, telling the Associated Press that the reported incident was false and had not happened.
Officials have not established a connection between the medical emergency and Combs’ subsequent transfer.
Reports of prison violations and lost privileges
The move also comes amid reports about Combs’ conduct and living conditions at Fort Dix. NBC News previously reported allegations that he received preferential treatment, including access to alcohol, massages, special meals and a contraband cellphone.
Those claims have not been presented as an official explanation for the transfer. TMZ also reported that Combs lost 41 days of good-conduct credit and 400 days of commissary privileges following disciplinary issues.
Good-conduct credit can affect an incarcerated person’s potential release date, while commissary privileges allow access to certain items purchased through the prison system.
Diddy’s projected release date remains March 2028
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence following his 2025 conviction on two prostitution-related transportation charges. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
According to inmate records cited by ABC News, his projected release date is March 2, 2028. Combs is appealing his conviction and sentence, and the Second Circuit heard arguments in April without issuing a ruling as of the reports provided.
For now, the reason for his transfer remains undisclosed. Neither the Bureau of Prisons nor Combs’ representative has confirmed whether the move relates to his health, reported disciplinary issues or security concerns.
