The Atlanta Falcons have secured their future at wide receiver. The team agreed to a four-year contract extension with Drake London worth $141 million, according to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter. The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money and could climb to $150 million through incentive bonuses. The agreement makes London one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the entire league.
Among all players at his position, London now trails only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase in total contract value. Atlanta’s decision to commit at this level reflects both the player’s development and the franchise’s confidence in him as their primary offensive target moving forward.
A draft pick who delivered on his promise
London was the eighth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Over his four seasons with the Falcons, he improved steadily before breaking through in a significant way in 2024. That season, he caught 100 passes for 1,271 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the more dangerous receivers in the NFC.
Even in a year affected by hip and knee injuries, London still produced. Despite missing time, he finished with 68 catches, 919 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns. Those numbers, accumulated while dealing with physical setbacks, only strengthened the Falcons’ resolve to keep him long term.
Timing of the deal
London, now 24, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. That deal would have paid him $16.8 million for the upcoming season. By agreeing to an extension now, both sides avoided the uncertainty of a contract year and set London up as a cornerstone of the Atlanta offense for years to come.
