Paramount+ has released the official trailer and key art for Diarra From Detroit Season 2, giving fans a first look at the next chapter of the critically acclaimed comedy-mystery series. Created by and starring Diarra Kilpatrick, the new season premieres on Wednesday, July 29, with the first two episodes before shifting to weekly releases through September 9.
After earning praise for its unique blend of comedy, suspense and Detroit culture, the series returns with an even bigger mystery and higher stakes.
Diarra hopes for peace but finds another mystery
Season 2 picks up with Diarra hoping to enjoy a carefree summer after the chaos of the first season. However, those plans quickly unravel when a routine furniture recovery mission places her at the center of another disturbing crime.
As the investigation unfolds, Diarra dives into Detroit’s criminal underworld once again. This time, she goes undercover with a secret society, searches for buried treasure and juggles a complicated love life while trying to solve the latest mystery.

Returning cast leads another adventure
Diarra Kilpatrick reprises her lead role alongside returning cast members DomiNque Perry, Bryan Terrell Clark and Jon Chaffin.
Season 2 also welcomes back Shannon Wallace, Phylicia Rashad and Harry Lennix.

Kenya Barris and Miles Orion Feldsott also return as executive producers, with Feldsott serving as showrunner. The series is produced by BET Studios and Khalabo Ink Society.
The creative team aims to build on the show’s signature mix of comedy, mystery and authentic Detroit storytelling.
Season 1 earned critical acclaim
Since its debut, Diarra From Detroit has received widespread praise from critics.
The series was named one of the year’s Top 10 Shows by several major entertainment publications, including Deadline, Rolling Stone and The Hollywood Reporter. It also earned multiple NAACP Image Award and Independent Spirit Award nominations.
Kilpatrick additionally received a Gracie Award for Actress in a Breakthrough Role.
When does Diarra From Detroit Season 2 premiere?
Season 2 premieres Wednesday, July 29, exclusively on Paramount+.
The streaming service will release the first two episodes on premiere day, followed by one new episode every Wednesday until the season finale on September 9.
