Kehlani has canceled two upcoming concerts after being hospitalized with a sudden health issue. The singer shared that she experienced severe pain and was unable to swallow before seeking medical care.
The cancellations affect her scheduled shows in Camden, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. The Grammy-nominated artist apologized to fans while explaining that doctors did not clear her to perform.
Kehlani Cancels Concerts After Hospital Visit
Kehlani announced the cancellations on Instagram on Aug. 26 after spending the night dealing with intense pain.
The singer said she had felt completely normal during two days off before her symptoms suddenly appeared. She later went to the hospital and learned that she could not safely perform at her next two shows.
Kehlani apologized directly to fans in Camden and Washington, D.C., while saying her team was working on a solution.
The singer also shared photos from inside an examination room alongside her announcement.
Kehlani Plans to Resume Tour in Virginia
The cancellations come only a few weeks after Kehlani launched her 41-date world tour.
The tour began Aug. 6 and includes performances across the United States. Despite the unexpected interruption, Kehlani told fans that she expects to return to the stage in Richmond, Virginia, on Aug. 29.
Her team is working on plans for the canceled performances, although details about possible rescheduled dates were not immediately available.
Kehlani Has Focused on Her Wellness
Kehlani has previously spoken about the importance of maintaining a routine while balancing music, touring and her personal life.
In a recent Billboard interview, the singer explained that maintaining her wellness routine helps her manage the demands of her career. She discussed exercise, spending time outdoors and other parts of her daily routine.
She also revealed that she recently underwent sinus surgery after experiencing breathing problems for several years. According to Kehlani, doctors discovered that her nasal passages were blocked.
The procedure came shortly before her current tour, making her latest health setback another challenge during an already demanding period.
Kehlani Asks Fans for Understanding
Although canceling two performances was difficult for the singer, Kehlani made it clear that her health had to come first.
She expressed her disappointment over missing the Camden and Washington, D.C., shows and apologized to the fans who had planned to attend.
For now, supporters can look ahead to her planned return in Virginia as Kehlani focuses on recovering and getting back onstage.
