Cardi B’s approach to motherhood and fashion is exactly what you would expect: unapologetic, high-energy and completely on her own terms. In an exclusive interview with E! News, the Grammy-winning rapper reflected on how life as a mother of four has shaped her relationship with style. Her answer was characteristically direct. Bold fashion remains non-negotiable, and not much has changed since having children.
One small concession to context did surface, however. Showing up to her daughter’s school in an overly revealing outfit is where she draws the line. Beyond that, her signature approach to dressing stays fully intact and unapologetically Cardi.
Why fashion keeps her motivated
For Cardi, fashion is not simply about appearance. Instead, it serves a deeper function in her daily life, making her feel good, creative and motivated to engage with the world. On days when she is not recording music or filming videos, experimenting with different looks, hair, makeup and accessories keeps her energized throughout the day. That creative outlet fills the space between professional projects with genuine purpose.
Furthermore, she connected fashion directly to mindset and momentum. Looking good, in her view, creates a desire to get out, be productive and push forward. That perspective gives her relationship with style a practical dimension that goes well beyond aesthetics alone.
Kulture is already raiding her closet
One of the more entertaining moments from the interview involved her eldest daughter. At just 7 years old, Kulture has apparently developed a full-blown obsession with her mother’s wardrobe. Cardi said with a laugh that she is nearly fed up with finding her daughter in the closet. Nevertheless, clear ground rules are firmly in place. Clothes and shoes are fair game, but purses are strictly off limits — a boundary made necessary after Kulture already left her mark on one of them.
Cardi described her daughter’s taste as vibrant and colorful, gravitating toward graphics, rainbows and florals. As a girly girl through and through, Kulture’s enthusiasm for fashion makes perfect sense given the wardrobe she has grown up around.
The Fashionphile partnership and what drew her in
As a new brand ambassador for Fashionphile, the luxury fashion resale platform, Cardi explained that the partnership made sense for two distinct reasons. First, the platform carries pieces she has spent considerable time searching for that are no longer available in stores. Vintage bags and limited editions that have essentially disappeared from traditional retail are well represented there. For someone with her appetite for distinctive pieces, access to that kind of curated inventory is genuinely valuable.
Second, and perhaps more surprisingly for someone at her level of celebrity, the pricing structure appealed to her directly. Cardi was refreshingly blunt about it: she loves a good deal and has no interest in paying inflated prices when she does not have to. Fashionphile’s model satisfies both her taste and her practical instincts at the same time, which is precisely why the partnership felt like a natural fit.
What comes next for Cardi
Currently in what she described as a period of tour withdrawal, Cardi is stepping back from the stage before diving into her next album. That project, she has noted, will be less personal than her recent work. In the meantime, partnerships like Fashionphile and quality time with her four children are filling her calendar. Those children include Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 20 months, all with ex Offset, as well as her 5-month-old son with Stefon Diggs.
Between musical chapters, the combination of motherhood, fashion and new business ventures is clearly keeping her very well occupied.
